    It says 三十五 which is 35, or 1960 by our reckoning

    @OldEastside Yeah, I get they are probably worthless to you... My father left me a bunch of foreign stuff that I am at least trying to go through out of respect for him.

    I think the point is they are about the same size and weight as a US quarter... but with an exchange value of around 10 cents. Even common coins can be interesting - depends on the presentation.
