1832 Capped Bust Half with Die Break

Is this a well known variety? Interest die break across nearly the entire coin from left to right.

    Yes, it's a 120a, obv 13, possibly an R.4
    on page 539 of Overton's book.

    Actually appears to be the 120b rather than the a die state. Same as the O-120a except there is a die chip in the die break in front of the portrait.

    This is not listed in Overton. It is listed in Herrman's AMBPR with only one auction record for this die state. Herrman says that it is probably R-7. Actually probably only R-5 to R-6, though as more collectors recognize the die state.

    Nice find.

    Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.
