1905 Halfcrown - Not Chinese!

Have a look for your pleasure, GTG on this if you like. The luster is simply not caught by the photos....
The obverse is quite well struck, as is the reverse.

It now is in a PCGS63 holder. Originally they gave it "58", however sent it back as that was ridiculous & came back at "63". IMO, easily the equal of the 64 I saw. A shame about the minor chatter here and there but very well struck and the luster really to behold.

Terrific coin. MS63 seems to be reasonable.

I think 63 is about right, if not one grade too high (IMO). The chatter is way too much for a 64 hope. Particularly on the bust, beard, and the small scratch above the ear. Definitely too much luster for AU, but a slider 58/62 type coin.

I didn't follow the "Not Chinese" title...are lots of these know to exist as fake Chinese examples?

I guess it needs to be seen in hand then. I am well familiar with this series and is one of the very best struck specimens that I have seen by a country mile. This is a blown up picture with excellent hair and beard and mustache detail. The reverse is far better than the 64s I have seen.

Oh, the detail in the King's hair and beard is exceptional! No doubt about that.
