1896 PCGS XF40 CAC 50c
$395

CAC Population in XF40: 2
PCGS Population In XF45: 24
CAC Population in XF45: 3

A very tough P Mint to find wholesome and nice with a CAC sticker. No auction records exist for a CAC graded XF, probably since there are two! Mid grade barbers remain one of my favorite series to root out and find nice. They have come down from levels 10 years ago when they went for what I thought was fair money. Now, they seem cheap in mid grades. Much of the drop is due to a decrease in mint state values which have trickled down to the more difficult VF/XF coins. I believe that the 1896 will eventually pass the overvalued 1913, 1914 and 1915 in the future.

1909 PCGS XF45 CAC 50c
$325
Total CAC Population (All grades): 73
PCGS Population in XF40: 35
CAC Population in XF40: 5
PCGS Population In XF45: 40
CAC Population in XF45: 2

A somewhat easier coin to find than the 1896 above, but still difficult to locate in mid grades with eye appeal, luster and .original surfaces. The last XF coin in CAC to sell was an XF40 that sold for $322 in 2012.
