Topps 220 set by Topps and Bryce Harper

I don't know if you have heard about this set or not as the information was released today, but Topps partnered with Bryce Harper to make a 30-card set of Harper's choosing. It includes 14 base cards...basically his starting lineup he'd choose. Then there's a 5-card "Best Hair" set, 5-card "Harper's Heroes" set and 6-card "Look Good, Feel Good, Play Good" set. The set is available for one month only at $24.99. Or for $50 you can get the set and an autograph or relic card. The information is here and is only available at Topps.com. https://www.topps.com/topps-curated-sets/topps-x-bryce-harper.html

Is this something you think you'd buy? I assume PSA will grade cards from this set as it's a licensed Topps product. He did a Facebook live video about the set on his page, where he showed most of the cards in the set, but not all. I'm on the fence about it.

Tough call for me - I’ve picked up some of the Living Set, On Demand, and Throwback Thursdays, but not sure about this one. Making it available for a month is worrisome. Most of their other limited sets are either available for a week or until they sell out (or whichever comes first) - some of their On Demand offerings have sold out in hours. Hard to know what the print run will be over a month and the cards are basically a buck apiece. It doesn’t help that I’m not much of a Harper or gimmick fan, so I don’t really care about his 6 cards or the “all-hair” cards...

I might consider making a run at the $50 set and then putting some of the base cards up for sale after the month expires... still thinking it over.

Interesting concept.....but why Harper? Most overrated player in the game imho.

I live in the DC area and am big a Nats fan.....but wouldn’t touch this product w a 10 foot pole. The “best hair” cards in this set pretty much sum up why myself and thousands of other Nats fans will be holding the door open for him on his way out the door this winter.

Always looking for tougher PSA 10's of Nolan Arenado, Alex Bregman, Mookie Betts, Francisco Lindor, and Mike Trout.

If you are collecting, fun cards to acquire. As for flip opportunity, I would skip this one. I just don't see the value here.

Actually, the Auto/Relic sets are already sold out.

Heh - guess they had a max after all and my decision was made for me. This happens with their other offerings as well - I think the Living Set is the only thing that has no pre-defined limits. Kinda wish they’d tell us up front what the print run is but they don’t have a problem selling out so I guess there’s no need to.

Perfect example of why I get so frustrated with all the product offerings. I have to pay attention to {censored adjective} material like this if I want to build a Benintendi master set, just because Bryce Harper (or more likely, an exec at Topps) thinks he has nice hair.

Lost me at 'best hair' set. :)
