For Babe Ruth fans, and who isn't.

Thought might interest a few here. Am reading a great new book about the "Babe". Entitled "Breaking Babe Ruth by Edmund F. Wehrle. It's main theme entails how management tried to control/rein in Ruth in his climb up the popularity ladder. How they tried to prevent him from becoming bigger than the game, while at the same time using him for financial gain and having Ruth popularize the very game they sought to control him in. Covers his career including his product endorsements (memorabilia type things), exhibition games, "the house that Ruth built", a photo of him being besieged by autograph hunting children, and a rumor that he may have contained "mixed blood". All and all a good book about Babe Ruth.

Interesting. Read the Creamer biography years ago might have to check this out. The photo you mention with the kids (or a similar one) was the inside jacket cover of that book.
