I am looking to buy some 57 Topps football cards. How do I know if the are original or reprints? Thanks.

If you can't tell the difference between an original and a reprint, my advice would be to buy some already slabbed by PSA... Then, when you get a feel for how they should look front and back, consider buying them raw... You'll see that the reprints are actually quite different from the originals.

Ok thanks! If anyone else has a guess please chime in.
buy a bunch of different reprints online and you can see that the paper stock feels different....more like modern cards.
also usually under magnification the reprints look pixelated.
reprints are also always perfectly centered.
If you get a backlight flashlight the reprints use a modern UV card stock and will have a white glow whereas the authentic cards are more like old cardboard and will not have the white glow. Plus, with a magnifying glass you can see the dot pixels in authentic cards compared to new which look more like scanned photos. Much harder to detect modern era reprints than vintage IMO
When buying raw vintage in person carry a guaranteed, raw, authentic, untrimmed common with you. Use to compare the "feel" and place the 2 raw cards side by side. This should help you greatly in determining the cards authenticity. Otherwise, as stated above, pre-graded is your safest bet.
You would think they would have to put some type of marking on the back to show it was reprint.
Yep Graded or a reputable seller of Vintage Cards,

This...used a graded card as the baseline
I just purchased a 57 Topps football card. I will post scans when I receive it. Fingers crossed.
