Fraudulent Racks On EBAY By koolcollectiblez

Seller has a 4 rack 1979 lot with 3 star racks having key stars in the wrong panels.

These are the Carlton Fisk, Ozzie Smith (of course) and Mike Schmidt.

Item ID 232877381310

Seller has already negative feedback for fake pack.

If you doubt me ask others here who know these packs. I hear @grote15 is knowledgeable.

The advice is free, not acting on it could cost you.

This seller has gone through several incarnations including vickeys*collecfibles. I would not bid anything on any of these racks.

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
  • The listing is still up. Please go on EBAY and report this listing as fraudulent.

When fake packs sell it hurts us all.

  • Another fraudulent set of rack packs by this seller.

    EBAY item ID 232878311585

  • And a 3rd fraudulent listing: 232878382451

The Thurman Munson is in the wrong panel.

It always appears in the 1st panel.

Unless we report these listings to EBAY as bogus these kind of scams will continue to happen more and more.

Ken - Volunteered to work in Florida Keys, now freezing in Ohio
Work in progress - Unopened Racks/Cello/Wax with star power for Baseball, Football and Basketball
Collecting unopened 80's boxes and graded packs
I may be hoarding too much 80's junk wax but I like it!

What do you guys think about this group of packs?

I've heard that seller uses inferior packing tape, other than that I can't comment.

those have been on e-bay for over a year. Another overpriced auction looking for a sucker. My searches exclude everything from this seller to make my life easier. Can't speak to the authenticity, but several on this board know that seller.

    Collecting PSA 9's from 1970-1977. Raw 9's from 72-77. Raw 10's from '78-'83.
Collecting Unopened from '72-'83; mostly BBCE certified boxes/cases/racks.
    Prefer to buy in bulk.
  • I appreciate the responses.

Have any of you reported these fraudulent listings by koolcollectiblez to EBAY?

Bids are now in the hundreds of dollars and some poor soul(s) will get stuck with fake packs.

As the listings are still up it would seem this community needs to do more to police listings.

Ebay doesn't care unfortunately. You get the right person involved maybe, but flagging never seems to do much of anything most of the time and then the auction is already over and buyer is taken. I think this post about the situation and with the seller's name is the best we can do to help them out shall they google the username.

No, it's a waste of time IMHO.

Bids are now in the hundreds of dollars and some poor soul(s) will get stuck with fake packs.

Actually, eBay needs to do more. This community has repeatedly reported these people and at this point are tired of them popping back up under new accounts with the same junk. Reporting the listing and getting them taken down has done nothing.

  • I think it enough people flag the listing EBAY will rake it more seriously. I’ve seen it work in the past.

I think trying that is the best we can do.
