My 6th National since 2008
Even though we were only there for two days, I had a great time running into old friends as well as meeting new ones. I am little disappointed not seeing those that couldn't make it as well as those that were there that I missed.
I didn't take a ton of pictures this year, but I think Bounce did a hell of a job recapping the Natty on a different thread.
I can tell you PSA had their Sh*t together this year. PSA was well organized with different type of lines they set up for faster service. PSA also had a TV monitor set up and once your order was ready your name was displayed on the screen for pickup.. The customer service that was offered by PSA at this years National blew me away. I take my hat off to PSA.
I felt a lot of the high quality of cards (vintage as well a shinny) were absolutely overpriced. The one question I have for those dealers is did you really want to sell those cards or just show them off?
What is so nice about attending the National there is something for every collector. If it's vintage, shinny, unopened, memorabilia, game used or even what I like odd ball stuff this is the place for you. I'm keeping it short so In closing it was great catching up with old friends and meeting new. I apologize if we didn't run into each other this year, but I hope to see you again in Chicago next year.
Here's a few pics and the items I picked up at this years National.
Here's the PSA monitor when your order is ready. The number next to your name is the number of orders you have with them
This was at the Heritage Auction. 1984 Chicago Bulls ticket, Michael Jordan's NBA Debut. Talk about a difficult ticket to find
Here's a few of my pickups:
This was my only Pittsburgh Pirates item I purchased : Jason Kendall game used uniform. Yes I did try it on and it fit.
I picked up the Blue Ink at the National and subbed the Benny Relic. I was hoping for a 10
This was also a self sub. I'm pretty happy to add this to my Bellinger collection, but might sell it.
I've always been drawn to these SI test stickers, Bird / Magic are pretty common, but the Dominique not so much. Pretty excited to land the human highlight reel.
Last but not least, this is by far the biggest card I've ever pickup at any national I've attended. I do want to thank Jeff Foye for seamless transaction. I can tell you first hand Jeff and Brady Hill are absolutely great people in the hobby. The cards they offer are always high quality. They both came up with a concept that is similar to PWCC's High End designation with "Pristine Centering" which is a label they put on their cards that have pristine centering. You'll see a PC sticker on the top of the flip if it hits that mark. I took my sticker off, only because I scratched the hell out of my case in which now I need to send back to PSA for reholdered. ARGH!!!
Here's my blue chip pickup!

Beautiful Chamberlain!
Great looking Wilt!!! Congrats.
Holy _hit !!!
That's a fantastic Chamberlain rookie !!!
You did amazing !!!
Thats a big card you got there. The centering just makes it even sweeter. Good stuff.
Kevin Burge on PSA list...hasn’t he had some bad press?
Thanks for sharing your National with us. For those of us who don't get to go, it is great to see the show through the eyes of a fellow collector. That PSA 6 is terrific. Centering on the 1961 set is really tough so to get one so perfectly centered on the biggest card in the set is remarkable. Congrats on a great pick up. I am sure it won't be any time soon, but if you ever are looking to sell that card please look me up!
Badass Wilt!
My daughter would shank someone for either of the Ben10Ds.
I'm glad you clarified that the number on the PSA board was how many orders you had. I was thinking with a PSA20, Kevin Burge must work for 4SC.
Great stuff! I saw the SI test stickers, went back for them and they were gone! Nice job on those, you are right, the Wilkins is tough.
I was there Saturday to drop off a bulk and reholder subs. I was expecting a long wait, but having the subs done online allowed me to go to the express line. I was there around 10:05 and waited only 10 minutes. I will give PSA credit for being super organized for this national. Just an amazing day with so much to see that you prioritize your time and just enjoy it.
Great catching up with you, Bobby, and once again, congrats on the awesome Wilt RC.
Glad you finally made it back to the National. Great catching up with you and that Wilt was even nicer in hand...congrats!!
