Don't be a hater, but I'm on a kick with my wife lately watching FETV and shows from the mid-80's. Last night (perfect timing with the National kick off) there was an episode regarding a $250k baseball collection being stolen. There are many references in this episode to card, condition, etc... Very interesting to see these cards tossed around so carelessly...it makes me cringe watching this.
For your enjoyment, jump to the 12:35 mark for the crème-de-la-crème.
Thanks,

Seeing that clip reminded me of the movie Cop Out with Bruce Willis & Tracy Morgan (horrible movie duo) who spend most of the movie trying get back Bruce's stolen 1952 Topps Andy Pafko card. The story behind the card starts at the :57 second mark.

Funny how the reviewer refers to a baseball card as "trivial". Guess he isn't aware that there are cards out there worth millions.
He's a movie reviewer on youtube, that says it all lol

On Silverspoons:
I always LOL at that episode of H to H -- when Jonathan calls up friendly local card dealer to get an idea of what he has, the friendly fellow informs him (without seeing any actual cards) that he's sitting on a small fortune, then cheerily wishes Jonathan a good day/thanks him for the random phone call! :-D
BTW, no hating here, I LOVE silly/wonderful '70's-'80's TV!
"Tell me whatcha got -- the condition and the years"
LOLOLOLLOL!
"That '52 Mickey Mantle you got is going for as much as 3 thousand dollars"
-- ah, to go back in time. Assuming I had the 3K to spend on a realllly nice one, since I'd be about 11
Looks like Ricky is studying a prized '89 Topps.
While this clip doesn't show any cards, I got quite the laugh from this scene in Better Call Saul.

There was an entire episode of MacGyver that was about a stolen baseball card collection. Just imagine what MacGyver could do with a stick of gum AND the pack of cards it came from!

Time is of the essence here! God forbid they get creased!
Wonder Years was one of my favorite shows...

Nope. Def 1984. 1989 hadn't even happened yet.
