Ice Fishing, Snow Dogging, and Feasting on Maladadas Outdoors with the Outdoors Boys.
Luke just returned from filming a winter adventure episode of "The Outdoor Boys" that took him to a mountain top outside of Juneau where he constructed a survival snow shelter in the deepest snow accumulation in the State.
This Saturday afternoon he and his boys shared a day of winter fun with us flat landers on a nearby frozen lake that was once the set for the opening whale hunting scene in the Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski Hollywood movie "Big Miracle."
Pictured first is Drew Barrymore as I photographed her and the whaling crew on the lake for the past movie take:
And here is the lake on a recent date:
Now for yesterday's fun on the ice:
And to bring it full circle, here is a movie clip from a Japanese trailer for "Big Miracle" as it was filmed on the lake:
And here is attempted link for the "Outdoor Boys" most recent filmed adventure as it was posted yesterday:

World Whale Day Today (February 18th, 2024)
How ironic, I didn't realize it was National Whale Day when I posted earlier today with a tie-in to yesterday's venture on the lake that was the setting for the opening whaling scene in the whale centric movie "Big Miracle" that was based on the true story of a rescue of whales captured under the arctic ice.
