Sunrise in Maine in the winter looking out into the bay. Temperature was -13 degrees. When it gets this cold the sea smoke begins to rise. There is a ferry heading out to the islands sliding into the smoke.

This is sort of common on some old nickels I have noticed.
I am not sure if it is whizzed or caught in some machinery, but it is PMD, post mint damage. I have seen it several times usually on old nickels.
They feed on the coral bed as well as the sea vegetation.... tipping the balance off sometime.
I was part of a diving crew in charge of preserving the Kealakekua Bay .... eradicated many urchins including these sputniks
You should see how many fish came to feast for the delicate soft tissue (we got out of the water before bigger and bigger fish came)

had the privilege of taking a "Snorkel" excursion with my mom to Cooks Cove.....Swarms of Very interactive colorful fish
and 2 Manta Rays hangin out...... beautiful place and great memories!!!

I took that photo a few years ago, when they sold them at Walmart for a few months. Now, I believe you can only buy them in Canada. My favorite Mars bars were the kind they had 30-40 years ago with two WHOLE almonds on top of the bar.
