Vintage football w/wrong wrapper affect value?

Curious to the boards thoughts on if there is an affect on value on those years that Topps used old wrappers. I know it was common back in the 70’s and early 80’s. I have see 73’s use 72 wrappers and I think 81’s use 1980 wrappers etc. If bbce do those situations affect value versus a box that has the correct wrappers for the year

yes...they are worth less for the purist unopened collector (like the black line boxes).

they even sell for less on ebay/bbce site

I haven’t researched it but are we talking 10% less? 20%?

Bbce has a 36 pack lot (no box) of correct wrapper 1981 fb for $995.....they just sold a box of incorrect wrapper for $750.
