Machado trade - thoughts!?!?

As a Dodger fan I don't love the deal. I feel like we gave away a ton of talent for a three month rental. Curious what you experts have to say!?

You got a great player who will improve your chances of winning the World Series. All for a handful of players, that you don’t even know if they’ll be any good at the major league level, or even get there in the first place. Well worth it.

Depends on the GM you're dealing with. If it's a sharp GM getting those five players, I'd worry if I was a Dodgers fan.

I remember the Phillies getting bamboozled with losing Ryne Sandberg as a throw-in on a deal.

Different sport but recall when the Dallas Cowboys got rid of Hershel Walker for many draft picks which led to the Cowboys rebuilding a team that won three Super Bowls.

That being said, an incompetent GM would likely get five losers in this deal. I'm not familiar with the Orioles front office, but they sure haven't been playing well this season.

We shall see how it all plays out.

I guess its a positive for Boston seeing that he didn't get dealt to the Yankees but its possible he still ends up there this offseason. Hopefully he likes playing for the Dodgers and re-signs there. There was talk of Boston possibly going after Machado & closer Zach Britton at one point and with Machado gone I'm hoping the Sox still goes after Britton. Their biggest weakness right now is their bullpen.
