Does this Griffey Topps look regular or Tiffany?

I believe the only way to tell is it is very glossy if the Tiffany version.
You might need to pull it out to tell.
I'd say Tiffany. I looked for any chips in the white border that would show a dark cardstock, but I didn't see any so it looks Tiffany to me.
buying O-Pee-Chee (OPC) baseball
Pic of the back is the easiest way to tell.
My guess is Tiffany looking the edges and centering, but it’s a guess without seeing the back.
Here is why I question it. I have another one graded by bgs 9.5 as topps traded. It looks the same. Same color and back.im. I am wondering did they forget the word Tiffany. I'll post more photos in the morning.

Well played!
It looks like a glossy to me, but it IMO
Easiest way to tell, glossy front and a brighter back.
Grab any other base 1989 topps to compare, you will see the difference.

BGS is regular
Card Saver Tiffany
Based on the two photos
Tiffany cards have much clearer & better defined print on the 89’s than the base issue.
Better coloring and contrast as well on the Tiffany cards as well.
The two scans are very different. Card saver scan seems to have better resolution.
I don’t believe it’s the scans, I think it’s the regular issue vs Tiffany that’s creating that difference
Pretty sure the 89T Traded was done on white cardstock that's different from 89T base. I think the high gloss on the front is the only way to know for sure, and that can't be determined from a scan. It's likely only possible to capture in good lighting at the correct angle outside of any holders/penny sleeve.
No sir

So you guys are saying. The one in card saver is Tiffany?

Yes, really. Base are simple to tell apart from a back scan, not so much with Traded. If anything, the Traded Tiffany are a bit more dull looking on the back.

I misunderstood your post! I apologize. What I get for multi-tasking.
I thought you meant they had the “bleach white backs” in the light areas, a la 84 Tiffany cards.
I’ve heard many people mistakenly think that applies to all years.
I'm saying it's nearly impossible to tell with pics/scans, you need to have it in-hand outside of any holder to check the gloss on the front. Differences are so slight, they falls within variances of pic/scanner lighting and settings of brightness/saturation.
He’s right that it’s hard to tell, but should be pretty obvious if you remove it from the card saver and tilt in the light to see how glossy it is.
Like I said, I’m basing my guess on print clarity of the back, many regular traded cards from 89 are not as clear on small print on the back, but not all are that way.
Maybe I’ll just crack this open and we can compare
I'm normally a big fan of ripping, but not so much with limited edition sets. How about this, raw cards, same scanner used for all, front and back: https://www.comc.com/Cards,i100,=1989+topps+traded+griffey+40t+-2016
Could anyone tell from these?
ETA: Would have used Griffey Jr, but there's no raw (listed as) Tiffany copies available right now on COMC (but are there some hidden in the base Traded?) I may take a gamble on a couple that have a chance at being Tiffany, just to find out if I can pick them out by scan.
ETA2: I don't think there's a tougher issue to distinguish Tiffany from base with front and back scans of raw cards. Other parallel sets like this? For baseball, I can only think of 93 Finest refractors/base, 94 Bowman's Best refractors/base, & 95 Bowman's Best no notation refractors/base (early run prior to printing 'Refractor' on them on back). Similar issue to the 95 on the 97 Bowman's Best, but it only affected the Mirror Image Refractor inserts (regular only, not Inverted).
I cracked mine years ago and got an 8.
Good luck if you bust it!
Back scan of the slabbed card is so blurry, you can hardly read the printing.
These aren't even scans but photos.
Tiffany cards should have an indicator from manufacturing if they are this hard to tell from regular issue imo. Just another reason to dislike the new shiny stuff.
Good luck!
The Tiffany is whiter on the front border than regular too, but can’t tell unless there are side by side pics or holding them. It’s a mild difference my wife can’t tell the difference, but I easily can, so can my neighbor.
Hell, we’ll just bust them all, have the base sets in the other room, make this a fun night.
I would never bust them, hell, I have them all shrink wrapped both base and traded just to protect them more.
Just bought the 85 Traded, still looking for a good base, then need 84, have a second 89 Traded on the way.
