Very cool high relief piece, and you are unlikely to see another (especially toned like this). 1976 Gold Medal of the Bi-Centenary of James Cook's Third voyage. It is 30.7 grams of 9 ct gold, and is 42mm in diameter. I believe that puts melt at around $512 or so. It was designed by James Berry and issued by Eastern and Central Savings Bank in New Zealand. Asking $650 obo shipped.

Very nice !!!
Cool medal. I assume the other 15 cts are pretty much copper, which would explain the beautiful toning. Nice high-relief design as well.
Kind regards,
George
That is so stinking cool looking!
Huge Cook fan here.
I love that medal andI hope it finds a good home because it's out of my budget this month.
