    I don’t know, but that smudge is on a ton of Molitor/Trammell rookie cards. Maybe they don’t downgrade for that??

    While common to have the smudge the card exists without it. I think it should not be able to be even a 9 with that on the card. Would much rather have an 8 without the smudge than that 10 with it. But it is obvious from the price that many disagree.

    Wow, I don't track this card super closely, but I don't remember seeing one graded higher than an 8 with a smudge. Even though the smudge is very common for this card, I thought even an 8 would be generous. This one seems more like a 9 (PD) to me, but there is definitely a precedent at PSA not to assign a (PD) qualifier for the Tramm/Moly smudge for some reason, probably due to its prevalence.

    No higher than a 9 with the smudge.
