Counterstamp help!

I have this counterstamped 1853 large cent. It has J. W H I? T? L? E Y and a 6 on the obverse. And a star on both sides. Searching J. Whitley brings up H. J. Whitley the father of Hollywood. His Wikipedia page says he had a jewelry store, was the president of several banks, and several jobs he held before forming Hollywood. Does anybody here know if his jewelry store conterstamped coins? Any help would be great!

Your image is too big!
You need someone with a Brunk book to see if it is listed (known).
I can't really make out all the letters you mention, but the key is if it was done with one punch or individual punches (prepared/single punch is more significant).
I recently purchased Brunk's book on conterstamps. I don't see it listed anywhere in it, but I haven't searched the whole book yet.
I don't have oneself. I need to get one. There are various editions, and while the earlier ones are full of good information they are obviously not the most up to date.
I understand that there are multiple sections, so if he is aware of this one it may be listed in one of a couple places.
There are many, many counterstamps that are unidentified or even unknown (until someone finds one).
What a ugly coin.
206 is on the rev, partial digital left of 6 on obv, I think there are more clues on both sides. More research. Peace Roy
