NFL HOFers

I like collecting HOFers, mostly NFL ones. I'm only 20 so I don't have the income to spend nearly as much as some others who are older. Anyways, what's the cheapest way to get NFL HOFers autographs?
Any help would be appreciated.

eBay, if your not worried about set value, you can sort by lowest price and just look for cards you find attractive.

Hiya Don
Welcome buddy!
I like Jeff's suggestion.
How long have you been collecting?
I like the fact that you seem to be selecting a "narrow" focus?
My best advice?
Three (3) Rules
This may sound like an exaggeration but I'm sure there isn't a member here who - at one time - hasn't woke up screaming into the nite for going way over budget and trying to figure a way to explain it to the "boss?"
Been collecting autographs since I was like 13 or 14. I collect more than just NFL HOFers, that's just who I focus on. I know guys who have nearly 300 HOFers, if I can get anyone near that I would be very happy.
I usually try to budget myself but sometimes a deal is a deal and it's hard to say no lol.
Thanks for the help!
I avoided ebay until very recently. Have gotten a few items off of it lately.
Avoid signed RCs and I don't think it's too difficult to find most of them fairly inexpensive.
Some players sign through the mail for little or nothing!
A friend of mine does it with baseball cards. Often HOFers ask for some money or a donation to charity. It looks like a fun way to collect.
Why should one avoid them?
You asked how to acquire HOF autographs cheaply, implying that you are collecting them on a budget. He is telling you to avoid the RCs that are signed, as they will set you back financially much more than the same player autograph on a card from later in their career.
Exactly.
I have acquired many HOF'er through the mail for little or nothing. I also look on ebay, COMC, etc for Panini and Leaf signed NFL cards since many are available for $10-20. Many of the old timers, especially the lineman and non skilled position players tend to be very generous through the mail and cost very little for manufactured autograph cards. Along the way, I have filled in with higher dollar cards but grab the cheaper ones early and often
as someone that has over 300 HOFers here is some words of wisdom and a link to my set...https://psacard.com/psasetregistry/football/autographs/pro-football-hall-fame-players-coaches-admin-autographs/alltimeset/23128
many will be easy to come by at decent prices on eBay. there has been a surge in card company produced auto's of HOFers. i would stick with those unless you can send your own out. are you planning on having them PSA graded/certified? if you are looking at going that route then i would start by looking to find some on eBay already in PSA holders or by getting manufactured auto cards. you can save $ that way with the PSA costs. i was lucky when i started you could get good deals on PSA/DNA certification on cards. we use to have group subs from a thread on the Set Registry Forum. you cant sniff those prices from PSA anymore unless your a big time submitter to them.

its gone pretty quiet the last few years but you can learn from reading the past posts.
budget and set goals. my first goal was getting all the Packer HOFers. also look to snap up current and recently retired players that you think will make it into or close to the HOF now. prices will be much cheaper now than later.
i made a big move last year from IL to ID. if i ever get a chance to get to my boxes of cards i could probably find some that we could work out a good deal on for you to get started.
Collecting:
Brett Favre Master Set
Favre Ticket Stubs
Favre TD Reciever Autos
Football HOF Player/etc. Auto Set
Football HOF Rc's
Good advise on the future HOFer auto's. For the last 4 years, I have been buying autos of all the HOF Finalists since they are most likely to make it in sooner than later. Got some really good deals buying early.
Thank you so much for your advice. My first ever submission to psa is out right now, granted it's very small. I'll definitely check out the thread.
I do have a budget but not really a specific goal. I just try to add players I don't have whenever I have the chance, or get duplicates of ones I think are hard to find.
I'm actually from IL but not a Packer fan, Go Bears! I'll take any help I can get, again thank you so much for your help.
