Downgraded some buffs for my set

The set is about overall eye appeal, and I liked this pair of 63s more than the 64s they replaced.
This 34 looks as good or better than my current 34, but with this one having the better toning biased to the obverse.
The grade limiter on the 30 is of course the gash to the top of the feather. It more that makes up for it in eye appeal in my opinion.
Still needing a 21, 24 and 29 to complete the philly run. The short set is complete just as soon as I get the 35 in pcgs plastic.
MS66 taste on an MS63 budget.

Then I would argue that is not a "downgrade" at all. Like you, grade is secondary to eye appeal for me. I'd rather have the two nickels you posted than an average, dipped coin in a higher graded holder.
I believe you mean grade is secondary to eye appeal.
I agree with you guys that eye appeal, IMO, is far more important than grade. Those are two sweet looking Buffernicks!

Yes, thanks and sorry for the typo!
Those are outstanding regardless of the grade. I'd rather have color like that than a white coin graded two grades higher.
That gash saved you quite a bit of money, I'll bet.
Nice coins -- I'd be happy to own either of them -- and thanks for sharing.
both have nice eye appeal.
do prime area hits pretty much hold buffs down in the 63 range?
