@logger7@KollectorKing I'm confused (and apparently I'm not alone). One guy posts an ad with no pics and a second guy posts the pics. Who's selling this?
Not very well cleaned as the finer places like the center of the 5 in $5...the dots on the rim, feathers on the eagle, lines on the shield, inside the eagles eye, under the top eyelid of liberty, the wording liberty on her head and so on show bits of dirt and usage.... I suggest to soak in warm water to soften the dirt and the usage of a tooth pick to get the grime out as it has a pit but not made of metal and wont scratch the coin. It will take a t lot of time but to make sure the coin is in uniform condition both sides, will pay off.... I can sense a lot of people are going to disagree with me for the sake of it but just remember the original person than cleaned the coin, did a very bad job...It cannot be made worse... I will answer any comments or private messages... My grading because loss of lustre , the fine scratches in the fields and the dirt still showing would be a g/VF to a/EF at the best....It is not good enough for EF. I know the book says not to clean coins but as the previous owner did so, one cannot make it any worse......

Kind regards,

The op is selling the coin. He edited the original post after I posted the image of his coin.
I wasn't clear on the grade of the OP $5 Classic Head.
Grading is all over the place on these and I wouldn't venture anything but a rough guess based just those pics alone..
It appears to be a First Head (small date), McCloskey 1-B. Maybe R-3? Not too uncommon.
I have a similar 1835 1-B in VF35, graded properly.
The OP coin has much greater detail and I agree with him it is in the EF45 range.
Here is my pic below for comparison. -And I apologize if I take anything away from the OP thread.

My take, an original looking EF45, reverse is AU; looks like light wipe on portrait and left. No serious marks.
Nice old gold

Mine. I'm trying to figure out what to do with the coin; I compared it to Classic $5 pieces on Northeast's site, it is way better than those XFs.
