Today is Flag Day.....

    Seeing the photo of the flag and perkdog's post made me just go to You Tube and listen to:

    1. Kate Smith's rendition of "God Bless America" in 1976 at the Spectrum during the NHL playoffs; and

    2. Whitney Houston's rendition of the "Star Spangled Banner" in 1991 at the Superbowl in Tampa.

    Both singers were magnificent, though my favorite is Whitney Houston.

    When Kate Smith sang that marvelous song before a Flyers hockey game, I didn't google it, but i remember their record was of winning almost every game - simply amazing.

    Just a coincidence? :)
