Three Cent Silvers (3cS)

Lot 1. 'Almost Right' family - "Budget Set". The 'Almost Right' family has 8 varieties dated 1860 and 1861; 3 varieties are dated 1860 and 5 varieties are dated 1861. This 'Lot 1' includes 7 of those 8 varieties; the missing variety, 1861 2-J, is extremely rare with only 4 examples recorded to date (out of a personal photographic census of 400+ examples between all 3cS varieties collected over 10+ years of research). Save yourself the time and energy of looking for each of these fairly rare varieties individually. Price $600.
1. 1860 1-J F+
2. 1860 2-K VG, minor surface roughness in right obverse
3. 1860 3-L VG/F
4. 1861 1-M EF+, heavy verdegris that I can attempt to remove with acetone (upon request)
5. 1861 2-N VG
6. (1861 2-J - missing)
7. 1861 3-O EF details, holed; very rare and missing from 'Lot 2', below; this variety is included in the budget set because of the hole but I can move it to the "Nice Set" (Lot 2) upon request with a price adjustment; individually valued at $125.
8. 1861 4-P F-details, holed.

Lot 2. 'Almost Right' family - "Nice Set". The 'Almost Right' family has 8 varieties dated 1860 and 1861; 3 varieties are dated 1860 and 5 varieties are dated 1861. This 'Lot 2' includes 6 of those 8 varieties; the missing varieties, 1861 2-J and 1861 3-O, are collectively very rare with fewer than 10 combined examples recorded to date (out of a personal photographic census of 400+ examples between all 3cS varieties collected over 10+ years of research). Save yourself the time and energy of looking for each of these fairly rare varieties individually and in such high grade condition. Price $950.

  2. 1896-O VAM 22 AU/Unc. Another very gorgeous and lustrous example of a scarce variety in high grade. Price $300.
  3. 1900-O VAM 5 - Micro o. 3 examples in grades of VG. Price $150 for the group; one example is damaged via indentation.
  4. 1900-O VAM 22C1. VG/F. Price $60.
