Removing Glue from Post Cereal Cards

I have looked through the archived questions, but cannot find a good way to remove the glue from where the cereal bag was attached to the box. Any ideas?

I'm not familiar with Post Cereal cards but I've had success in the past removing glue and scrapbook shrapnel by soaking cards. I'm sure there are plenty of how-to threads in regard to that.

I cannot bring myself to soak them.

I've heard of people using Goo Be Gone. You might try it on another box first.

Finger nail polish remover...if it contains "acetone"
Use a Q-Tip or Cotton Ball and do not use much
Be careful if it is on the printed surface, it could remove the ink

I've had good success removing glue from scrapbook items etc. using Heptane....It used to be sold under the brand name Bestine, but they stopped making it for a while. I just now checked and see that they are once again making it under the Bestine name and it's available on Amazon. Glad I checked as I need to order another can myself. Won't affect ink (none that I've used it on) and it evaporates very quickly leaving no trace.

Use Heptane in a well-ventilated area
