eBay has one of their better coupons today for 20% off. Coins are excluded, but some listings can be found in other categories. Plus one can always stock up on stamps!

Yes eBay monitors their message system, it is their right. I no longer do outside deals using the ebay message system. I have been caught. Clients can contact me thru my website and I can do a deal that way.
