Ebay completed auctions no longer viewable?

I've noticed today that once an auction has ended if you click the link to view the completed auction, it takes you to a live listing for something ebay considers "similar" to what just ended. Really annoying. Has anyone also noticed this?

yup and it was pretty aggravating. This is what it said for an auction that ended today This listing you're looking for is no longer available. Check out this similar item we found for you.
If you try clicking on the sold listing more than once it might take you to what you're looking for.

Hey Tim, I haven't noticed that, but I have noticed that when I'm on my iphone and want to go to the classic site to get to where I can search for sold items, I can't find the "Advanced" link to get me to that search page.
WTF ebay???? What's next--we can't see the items we're bidding on?!?!
I just now figured out a little workaround. You have to right click on the pic of the completed item, then click on inspect element, then find the item number. What you're looking for will look something like this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Topps-306-Preston-Pearson-NM-MT-High/253567555635?hash=item3b09cdd833:g:R74AAOSw1iNa1f5a
In this instance 253567555635 is the item number
Then go to http://www.watchcount.com/#serp
and handle your business as usual with the item number you just found.
Enjoy.
I haven't checked that out yet, but that would be really annoying.
I think they just recently changed the "find a member" location or removed it...i'm not sure yet.
So perhaps some deadheads at Ebay have nothing better to do except change things for the sake of justifying their salaries.
Actually the word listing is highlighted and if you click on it it takes you to the actual sold listing.

That's way easier than what I invented above. LOL
Put it on your watch list. Clicked ended auctions.
"I spent 50% of my money on alcohol, women, and gambling. The other half I wasted.
It looks like the link to see sellers other items in gone too.

EDIT, It seems to be working now. It wasn't yesterday
Excellent, thanks, Erik! For a Pats fan, you're pretty sharp!

That would be madness on their part.
That wasn't working either, but if you click the listing hotlink detailed above, that will.

Hmm. I see all the items I was watching in the ended side. Weird.

One thing I noticed, though, clicking on the "listing" link above will take you to the completed auction, but only to be able to view the bidding history. When you lick the link to view original listing, it still takes you to a similar, but different item.

Can you see the actual listing after clicking on the link for the auction, though?

When i click on listing it takes me to the sold page like it always has. The only change overall for me is that one extra click on "listing".
Yes

NM, it's working now. Cool.

I'm getting "The selected item is no longer available." w/no link to see the completed listing.
this is really annoying...
I'm getting sent directly to the sold listings like the originally were without seeing the setup in my pics above. This is definitely weird.

Here's a pic of what I'm getting now (after clicking the last link from Dpeck's Von Erichs thread):
yes. on another thread every time you click it changes. first click you see the item. second click you see another listing. Must be a bug or change they are working on.
Best place to buy !

Something is definitely up. When you click on a completed listing it takes you to another listing perhaps in the category or that is closest to the item you tried to view.
If you click on the link I posted it it will open and then if you click on the link to see it you will be rerouted to an entirely different item. I hope this isn't another attempt by EBAY to make it harder to search prior listings. I even tried going to watchcount.com and entering the number and clicking on it and same thing.
It is odd because this item works.

This is what comes up in most.
The listing you’re looking for is no longer available. Check out this similar item we found for you
Perhaps they have an algorithm that tries to find the closest thing and if none exist you can still see it. Going to keep trying on a few to see if I can find more that still work.
In the blue section right above the scan of the card your will see "The listing you’re looking for is no longer available. Check out this similar item we found for you." Click on the word "listing" and it will take you to the original listing.

Thank you!
You are welcome but someone else originally posted the info earlier in the thread.
James
I read the first few and last few posts and it seemed others were having issues as well.
What is really odd is some you can see like normal and others you get redirected. Perhaps it has something to do with when the listing was created.
+1
This is the workaround.
There is no workaround that I've found for seeing completed auctions in a particular section with key words, which works sometimes but not others.

Can you still search completed auctions by 'sellers' ID?

Only the mobile app works now and it sucks so bye bye.
