Re: How do you handle hagglers at shows?
I typically don't haggle at shows... I'll ask a dealer for their best price and either take it, or leave it. I've also learned that certain dealers will increase their "best price" if you walk away from their previous "best price"... lol...
Other than that, the best way to deal with a Hagler is Sugar Ray Leonard... ![]()
Re: GTG of My New Trade Dollar. Grade Revealed.

Many of your same thoughts were going through my mind as I was viewing this coin for the first time. I saw what appeared to be hairlines on the obverse, above, across and below her outstretched arm. That was concerning to me. Also numerous minor surface anomalies, both on the obverse and reverse, all of which have been discussed by the respondents.
Now on the other hand, as noted, the details on this coin are incredibly well struck. Full stars, head features, hand, all there. And the reverse, a frosty fully struck eagle, with proof like surfaces.
So to answer your question @MFeld, the reason I said, great guesses everyone, was because this coin sends out different messages to different people.
Wanted to add- and this coin possesses incredible cartwheel luster when viewed in hand, the overall look was appealing.
So I just wanted to clear the air and explain my choice as to why I purchased this particular Trade dollar.
Thanks to all, and will reveal grade this afternoon. Zack.
@jfriedm56 , Zack, I look forward to the grade reveal. Before arriving at my guess of MS63, I had considered different possibilities ranging from MS62 to MS63+. And, even though I wouldn’t even consider the “PL” designation that some respondents did, the luster looks to be far above average.
Sadly😉, we’ll still have to agree to disagree about all of the guesses being great ones. As, however unusual the coin might look or difficult it might be to assess from its images, I can’t fathom the AU guesses or the MS65 one. For anyone who’s offended by that, feel free to call me bad names, as long as they aren’t against forum rules.

A dealer friend years ago told me when offered a good deal, keep your poker face, keep your mouth shut, and just say that works. Don’t dicker, don’t gloat, just pay and move on.
A couple of months ago, I had an offer on an eBay lot that included a bunch of silver coins where I never updated the price after the recent runup in silver. It wasn't originally figured as a bullion lot, and I overlooked it. There was about $125 melt value in the lot, my listed price was $50 and the prospective buyer offered $30. I raised the price and declined the offer. The prospective buyer messaged me and asked if he could buy for the previously listed price. Sorry, no.
Re: How to value an MS67+ 1882-S Morgan Dollar

I'm looking for some guidance and education. I don't buy coins on eBay, but I'll use this 1882-S dollar as an example: eBay LinkThe coin is an 1882-S Morgan dollar in MS67+ condition, graded by PCGS and green-stickered by CAC. The asking price is $2728. There is only one other coin of this year and grade currently on eBay, which is listed at $2640.
Looking at the price guide on the PCGS website, I see several sales of MS67+ Morgans in 2025 (none in 2026) ranging from $1200 to $2115. The NGC website shows one sale of a MS67+ Morgan in 2026 (none in 2025) at a price of $1200. As far as I can tell, the PCGS and NGC websites do not indicate whether a coin is green-stickered by CAC, so the prices do not necessarily reflect an apples-to-apples comparison. On the eBay website, however, when I select "Sold Items", one sale of an PCGS MS67+ green-snickered Morgan appears in 2026 at $2184.
So, based on the above information, if I saw the eBay coin at a coin show, I would probably conclude that at $2728, it was priced at the high end. But what else should I be doing to assess the fair value of this coin? If you were interested in this coin, what would you consider to be a fair price, and why?
There are some sellers who ask "all the money" for their stuff. I have never dealt with that particular seller. Are his other items priced reasonable or are they on the high side?
