Re: Question on selling cards at the national or any other major convention.
The dealers who advertise their ability to do so will get you the best return on your cards, such as a company like 4SC. If you walk your $50-150 cards up to a dealer at a large convention, you would be more likely to receive a 50% offer. Waiting a month to get paid from a consignment company wouldn’t be a problem if you’re getting the most money now would it?
Re: American Liberty High Relief 2025

Re: Incredible! US Mint sells 2024 Flowing Hair Dies and First Strike for $440,000!!!
Sweet !
I recall sourcing 3 sets from the minter who created reverse die. He told me the use of copyright words "Atlanta Centennial Games" on his reverse die is what actually drew the concern of Olympic Committee lawyer. There was no Olympic Commitee problem with striking items with obverse die as the Mint legally sold them and owners can do whatever with them.
One set shown is #007 was featured in Coin World. Once the feature ran in Coin World he attempted to buy 007 set back or trade for another couple sets or... I did not pursue transaction options thus it remains archived.
My three 3 piece sets are:
002
003
&
007
The 100 sets mintage rarely pop up on my shopping radar.

I used to have an Olympic Die and it sure looks like the cross was milled.
The Olympic Dollar dies were used for restrikes but ran into legal issues due to copyright on the Olympics logo. There are some photos from the mint below.
Dan did some restrikes with Half Eagle dies that didn't have logo or copyright issues.
I'm looking forward to seeing if these dies will be used for restrikes!
Re: A little bit of everything
In 1863, Union soldier Jacob Miller of the 9th Indiana Infantry was shot in the forehead during the Battle of Chickamauga and mistakenly declared dead.
Despite the severe injury, his left eye dislodged and skull fractured, he regained consciousness, treated his wounds with a bandana, and crawled 15 miles to a field hospital.
Only part of the musket ball was removed, and the rest emerged years later. Miller had fought in multiple battles before Chickamauga and shared his story with a newspaper in 1911.
He lived with an unhealed wound until his death in 1917 at age 88, leaving behind a striking photo and an extraordinary tale of survival.
Re: Anyone else bummed that the CAC bean on the Farouk $20 is just a tad crooked?

The sticker doesn't mean much with regards to grade here. It's more likely CAC stickered it because they wanted their name tied to this famous coin. If PCGS called it MS67 it would still get a little green bean.
I gotta disagree there. With the obvious hits on Liberty …. I can’t see JA beaning it as a 67 solely to add CAC’s presence. Really that would just make CAC look suspect/bad with perhaps the highest profile auction coin that currently exists …
Re: ~Guess The Grade Roulette~
I always say carp instead of crap it’s more polite and they’re basically the same anyway.
Re: "The Most Laughable Coin On FLEABAY" -- a new daily laugh riot!
Seller doesn’t know a bb from a bullet. Great price, I’m gonna take advantage of that mistake.
