Re: Saturday morning coffee with coins
GM everyone and happy Saturday. Already played tennis and had 2 cups of coffee. I attended CSNS show and it was a real winner. Dealer reported that they all had one of the best shows ever. Lots a great coins available but it was still tough buying. I did manage to upgrade my Capped Bust dime registry set and will show another time when i can get good pic of the coin. One thing that made the show great was a Newman Society talk by Paul Hollis - the newly elected US Mint Director. Her talked about coins and our 250 birthday. Just fantastic. I got a chance to locate a 2026 dime and its gorgeous. Its not very often that I like modern coins but the Mint did a great job. Paul handed out his business card and the 2026 dime was included in the business
Enjoy-

Good morning, gents spending a little time trying to shoot my new Bestie while picking out some moderns for the next submission.

Re: 2025 Gold $50 Proof Buffalo to be record low mintage?
Beyond my price point for sure. However, my neighbor has bought every gold issued by the US Mint since they began resumption of gold issues in 1986. I must say when all laid out on his dining room table I was in awe. Had them out for his wife to get a handle on them. Had them back to the safe deposit box that afternoon. He's slightly older than me, I'll be 80 this summer, so I understand the importance of family (wife in his case) understanding what he has purchased and the value. Smart guy.

Another “Brick” in the Wall:

The IHC Complete Variety Set consists of 185(!) coins. With the addition of this one, I have only 4 remaining! It’s been a very long haul & I still have my doubts it will be completed.
Freshly graded, it was formerly undergraded as a NGC 64BN. This is just the 3rd S-19 designated & the only RB. The other two are BN’s - a 62 & another circulated one. Obviously, this is a very rare coin that’s part of the set as it’s recognized in Cherrypicker’s.
In hand, it’s stunning, with deep RB color & great luster. I’m going to obtain the EEPS at this month’s Central States show & submit to CAC after that.
This is easily the top example known of this elusive variety.
Update 4/8: TV posted today

Re: THE ~ Never Ending ~ Indian Head Cent ~ Thread!
I know I shouldn't, but sometimes I hesitate to post coins like this in this thread because they seem to go against so much of what has been posted already. I realize this coin is welcome here, but nonetheless. Anyway, these 1870s pieces in mid-grade with wonderful surfaces and in the OGH are terrific even if I need to take better shots.

Re: Saturday morning coffee with coins
Nice to be back home! About to have my Saturday Red Eye:

Today I’m posting the first one of 3 coins I picked up @ CSNS last week. As many have said, it was an absolutely fabulous show!

I own only one other CBD & that’s a large dentils example. Today’s coin is the Type 2 (small dentils). It’s the JR-6 variety with a normal date. VERY colorful with tones of aqua, rose, olive & a smattering of others! There is a strike thru on the reverse that’s likely from a wire. It runs from the eagle’s head & ends just to the right of it. Very cool! Stars are complete with full radials. Overall detail is strong, with just a few neck area hairlines keeping it from a GEM grade.
