Re: Post a coin you "couldn't afford to keep"

Taking “couldn’t “ to mean past tense, in 2013 I lost my job and had to sell some coins. Here’s the one I most regret not being able to “afford to keep”
I had bought this one from Brian Wagner and Stewart Blay for $25,000 and only managed to hang onto it for about two years. The $45,000 that I sold it for was little consolation. The fact that it disappeared from the subsequent owners collection by the time he sold was heartbreaking.
That is an amazing proof cent, it is sad you had to sell it.

If the silver medals were a coin, then I could easily justify the 2 1/2 ounce at 25k mintage being a huge winner. I could see many buying those and doing the entire set.But since they are medals and not coins, that may drop the number of people who will go all in on these.
However, for the price of one gold superman coin, you can have the entire set of 2 1/2 silver medals. I would bet the silver medal set at 2 1/2 ounce would be an easier sell than the one ounce small gold coin.
The gold coin is a half oz., not one oz.
Re: $3 Gold
That’s also a date – 1882 – that has been heavily counterfeited 50 years ago or so –
Photos aren’t the sharpest, but I have my serious suspicions based on the photos.

IMO someone got a good buy, despite the look of this coin.
Re: I picked these hyper German Hyper inflation notes up yesterday. Any info would be appreciated.
One of them is a German banknote. The other ones are provincial or regional German notes.

in the early 90s the FBI estimated 50% to 90% of all Sports Autographs were forgeries, thus since then nothing has changed.
One reason why I have zero interest in signed tickets. That, and the fact I hate the scribble on what would otherwise be a beautiful looking ticket.
