Re: Unusual 1916 Standing Liberty token - Cosgrove Airways 1928
The choice of the 1916 quarter design was presumably intentional. I wonder if it was a sort of risqué promotional item given to people Cosgrove interacted with (customers, suppliers, etc.), much like the girlie calendars that auto parts companies gave (still give?) to mechanics and auto shops.
I'd be interested to know if there are any other tokens with the same obverse.
Re: On a mission to improve club meeting-Requesting input
How large are the clubs?
My local club is fairly small, and the part of the meeting I enjoy the most is "show and tell".
We sit around a big table and pass "show and tell" coins from members to the left or right.
Re: Does this 1916 Lincoln cent appear to be a proof to you?
I do not see a proof from those photos.
Re: 2024 NFL Offseason/Regular Season Thread
Detroit keeps getting hit with injury bug I think they are going to run out of pieces to seriously make the Super Bowl at this point.
Vikes and Eagles are looking like my NFC favorites.
Watch out for the Rams!!!
Re: You Don't Know the Power of the Dark Side!
I have both US and world collections. I like the different challenges with both. I have mostly silver US coins and gold world coins. I do like spending four figures on a world coin that would be six figures in a US series!
Re: Blast From the Past (1941 Walker)
That is cool. I'd keep it just as it is in that old yellow 2x2.

I have used these photos often recently to illustrate current TV issues.PCGS TV 10/2/24
CACG 'TV' is very 'true' (ahem) to the coin in hand.
Grades please? I’m wanting to send my next sub to CACG so the tvs look correct but I’m afraid I’m gonna get killed on the grades (moderns). Plus I’m real bad about Zigging when I should be zagging.
P > XF40
C > XF DetsWell there you go. But still. A better picture with a lower grade in a better slab may still bring more money one day.
CACG giving that coin a details grade is a crime! What? I'm sorry, but that is just WAY too picky. I realize that grading includes human objectivity, but that is going to the extreme, and I disagree with it. Even if the coin does indeed have some flaws, they do not seem to effect the overall eye appeal. A details grade is unwarranted, in my humble opinion.
