I wouldn't call either of these 'glamour' shots. They're simply different techniques. Much like the below:
Both sets of images are equally as accurate. Knowing imaging techniques is an incredible advantage in today's market, and one very few know how to take full advantage of.
I like the top set, I think the bottom set looks like a freak. Colorful, but a freak. Bottom-line, I'd be pissed if I bought this coin off the top set, I'd feel like I was mislead. I'm not one for crazy-shaped color disrupting the eye-movement engraved in the coin, and that's what that bottom set reveals. It corrupts the intended eye-movement the engraver skillfully tried to get across, diminishing that graceful movement for the crazy-shaped color. Sorry, not for me. I love color. But when it complements, not disrupts.
Huh?
The engraver's expression is totally overcome by that freak show color. In fact, it's hardly existent. All his hard work and skill to control our eye movement through the coin is lost. Understanding better? Your eye moves through the coin different, now. Surely you at the least can pick that up.
Huh?

It looks like Stacks is now publishing Greysheet and Collectors Price Guide Pricing on the 230 Privy Auctions
Greysheet in 70 - 12,000
Greysheet in 69 - 8,000.
Where does Greysheet get their info from?APRs, you'll see those figures changed shortly.
Dan, would you consider sticking your neck out and being more specific? If so, do you anticipate that the changed prices will be raised or lowered?
😉😉
I try to avoid going out on a limb these days, so I’m going to have to politely refuse. Sorry .
Jokes aside, I suspect the grey wholesale is going to almost precisely match the lowest sale figures for each grade. It would look something like this:
PR70 - 34k CDN/ 40,800 CPG
Pr69 - 25k cdn/ 30k CPG

I believe that they also take posted bids on electronic exchanges into account. In this case, at the time those prices were published there were no actual transactions to consider.

LAST ONE....Somebody really wanted that "LAST" coin.
Is there any real importance to coin #230 other than it's the same number as on the privy.
Nope. But, to me, there is no difference between #2 and #202. Some people just have a thing for numbers. As with the Dusk and Dawn, the first and last sold for huge premiums over the others.
Re: Off center PSA 8 1971 OPC Nolan Ryan sold for $2,335 on eBay
I agree with @brad31 that this card is impossible to find period, let alone in high grade. This is card #513 of the 752-card set.
The higher you go in the 1971 OPC set, the tougher the cards are to find.
Another thing to consider is that even though this is Ryan's 4th year Topps card, it is only his 2nd year OPC card because OPC did not make a 1969 or 1970 Ryan solo card (other than 1970 #197 and 198).
For most of us that are priced out of the 1968 rookie card, this is a great early Ryan to try to find.
Again, no Ryan 1972 card either. He doesn't appear again until the 1973 set which is notoriously tough to find centered copies of.
Tape Your Boxes, Chapter 2
Shipper dodged a bullet big time here. Small FRBs need reinforcement if there's anything heavy inside. These are also the worst tubes you could use to ship coins as they often shatter in transit
Re: Shopping for a 1948 Leaf Jackie Robinson RC card, Here are Three (3) Examples. Which do you Like?
Just took a look at the eBay listing for the PSA 2 and, to be completely honest, based on my experience with the Leaf Jackie I think going with the PSA 2 is a no-brainer among the three examples provided.
That said, yes, it has roller marks but, as mentioned earlier, they honestly don't seem to look that bad in the high-resolution eBay image and don't seem to interfere at all with his face. I'd also be willing to bet the marks aren't that noticeable in-hand and would be outweighed by the card's outstanding color, brightness, and crispness of the image anyway as it's incredibly rare to find all three of those qualities together on any '48/'49 Leaf card.
Also, the centering on the PSA 2 seems to pretty good to me actually to the point where -- centering-wise -- this is probably on the higher-end of all Leaf Jackie examples out there. . .
Anyway, just my two cents -- again, good luck with the search no matter which route you choose!

Something tells me this is the dawn of a new era for the Mint. The institution, as we knew it, is gone.
Re: The Kansas City Chiefs are setting themselves up for a major collapse this upcoming season.
the Chiefs may have caught some breaks on the field, but they're about to get screwed with their schedule
3 games in 11 days coming up
love em or hate em, that's all sorts of wrong

Wouldn't surprise me if #1 and #230 were purchased by the same person.
