That is unfortunate and kinda sad. Time to regroup. Good luck to the Indianans.

Good question. PSA seems to be moving forward with a nine-digit number beginning with 10xxxxxxx instead of going back and filling in gaps.
Probably best that way to avoid confusion.
Re: PCGS Grading Set
I thought members wrote that there is no longer an in-house PCGS Grading Set. In my opinion, there is no need for actual coins anymore. All that is needed are images. PCGS Photograde is a good start (I use it along with grading guides); however, it needs lots of work and there will never be a perfect grading set in our lifetimes because of the way coins circulate - often with almost a full grade difference between sides. There is a 1795 half Dime discussion that makes my point. The edges of the coin are virtually worn away while the centers are practically VG. A TPGS assigned the grade of AG to the coin. That's nuts! Where is the "art" in that?
In my opinion, someone will put out a better set that covers perhaps five or more different images between the top and bottom of a single grade. I hate it when a coin does not fit the images - especially when the higher graded image is actually worse than the one below it. A company like Heritage has enough auction images to produce a great guide but what's the point. The top wants to keep the bottom guessing.

Re: Football autograph help please
Thinking the first one is Bradley Chubb of the Broncos. Any guesses on the second?
Re: W Quarter Pricing Continues To Be Strong Heading In To 2025
NONE of your discussions are about "collecting" , they're all inflammatory topics about Vaultbox or the like. Finding W quarters in circulation and reselling them is also not "collecting". Not sure how long you can play the "novice" card either, you've been a member here for 5 years. Do you have a collection? If you did, and you posted it, I would never say anything negative about it. In fact, I would love to see a post of that nature. Recently you promoted a clickbait article to which I tried to explain is not something that should be promoted, and you stubbornly argue about it. Im happy to help novices who actually want to learn about collecting, and I spend more time than anyone trying to do, so I haven't gotten that impression from you so far.

@perkdog I’d fire Mayo before he reaches the locker room.

I think that enthusiasm expressed for collecting so long ago is impressive.

Re: Anyone have any experience buying at ma-shops for world coins?
MA shops is owned by a fellow, Joachim Schwiening, and his Family. a long time ago we discussed a possible co-operation in North America. Remnants of that can still be found on google. I know JS for over 10 years, when he was relatively small.
all he provides is a platform for dealers to sell their products. he has very stringent pre-qualification requirements.
Its all shown on the website. there is also a 24 hr manned phone number with an English speaking person on the other end.
They act usually fast if a complaint is lodged.
MA-shops itself has absolutely NO say in how one of their dealers does business, what he charges and what his shipping charges are (usually very high). Grades are often based on the European "rubber band" system.
MA-shops takes a commission from each sale (negotiable for high turnover) but has a monthly Membership fee.
each member / dealer is his own business and can sell as he wishes, as long as he sticks to the rules.
One of the advantages is that MA shop insists on a "truthful to the facts" return policy is in place.
Payments are directly to MA-shop, who in turn pays the dealer minus commission.
I venture to say that over 500 world dealers are members of MA-Shops.
The chance is that you find what you are looking for.
So, if you think you have a beef with MA-Shops, it is fairly certain that your issue is with the dealer itself.
MA-shop itself is NOT an auction place. However, they do have an auction site.

Re: So what does undipped gold look like
Looking at on-line images or in person - even at high grade mint state and Proof examples - won’t necessarily tell you whether a gold coin has been dipped. At least, not until you’ve been shown what to look for. By far, the best way to learn is to find a highly knowledgeable and trustworthy collector or dealer to sit down with you, show you dipped and undipped examples and review them with you.
