  • Not to be some kind of jerk, but I doubt anyone would pay more than $1 each. I wouldnt even take them if you offered to send them to me for free.

So how do you really feel gecko?
Family, kids, coins, sports (playing not watching), jet skiing, wakeboarding, Big Air....no one ever got hurt in the air....its the sudden stop that hurts. I hate Hurricane Sandy. I hate FEMA and i hate the blasted insurance companies.

I understand they have little, if any value...but I have learned that there is always someone out there interested in just about anything.

I was not looking for a big payoff...a piece of junk silver or two would have been fine.

However....if my post offends...I can remove it...it was not posted to bug people.

Everything is cool on my end.....

  • Hey RAH you are right someone will want these for one reason or another YN maybe?? And it is clear that you are not trying to scam anyone or get rich so do not remove the post . It is a free country .

  • Didnt offend anyone I dont think Rah, your listing that is. Basically what I was trying to say in a less than tactful manner, was that those pieces should have far more sentimental value to the person who dug them, than any monetary value to someone here. Heck, I have a large cent in my collection that looks like an UNC when compared to your 2 pieces, but im embarrassed to even show that on these forums.image Here it is:

  • neat looking coin....thanks for sharing....

No offense taken on my end.

I was just testing the waters to see if anyone like ground dug coins. I too would keep them if I dug them...but my friend is not sentimental.

    Oh well....

    THanks again.

The fact that they are dug is cool enough for me. Wonder who dropped them and when. I like your coppers! If nobody takes you up on your offer, send me a pm and we can do a trade. I have a 9 year old son who is into coins.

Consider me interested. I like dug stuff, as you know, and frequently buy it from the local relic hunters. The "relic" provenance adds interest, and makes up for some of the impairment such pieces usually have.

I never sell my own dug coins, though.

Those are worth about three bucks apiece to me, I reckon. I would pay that or trade you six bucks' worth for 'em.

I have two Darkside lots on my current BST offer that are priced at six bucks, actually.

The first doesn't contain silver (and the coins are Darkside, obviously), but the lot has pretty good catalog value for a trade against what you have.

However, I have an offer you might not wanna refuse. image

I can not only offer you silver in exchange for those, I can offer you silver from the 1700s!

Normally I would be loath to part with a cool little coin like this in exchange for two impaired US coins, but what the heck. I have this one priced at six bucks anyway, and it has surprisingly gone unsold, so consider it swapstock. Yeah, it's Darkside, and pretty dinky, but ... hey... I think it is a strong trade offer.

In fact, I am probably crazy for offering it to you, since it would probably exceed its six-dollar lowball catalog estimate on eBay, but oh, why not. Speaking of Germany, your input on my recent thread about metal detecting and U-boats and so on makes you worthy of this trade. image
