Storks / Olmanjon Giveaway continues... Winner Announced!!

WINNER anounced on Second Page

Alas, the past 2 months have billed filled with the summer Flu & funerals.... argh.
So I have certainly had this box of beauties for well past my allotted time I'm sure!! image And it is now time to pass it along to someone else to enjoy ~

The high-point in the past 2 months however, is the fact that my daughter turned twenty on the Fourth of July!!!..... AND.... she has decided to join the Military - Army to be precise!! I am sooooooooo PROUD of her!!! She's an avid coin collector & she leaves for "Boot Camp" on Aug. 19th, so I figured I would tie that in to the giveaway!!

(The Army calls their enlisted jobs MOSs, or "Military Occupation Specialties." The Army has around 190 MOS's available for enlisted Soldiers divided into branches).

You must make TWO guesses (in ONE post) & a tiebreaker guess - and yes, posts may be edited:

FIRST - guess which Army Fort she'll go to for Basic Training (boot camp)

SECOND - guess which Army Fort she'll go to for Job Training (AIT) in her selected MOS...

Tiebreaker - guess which branch she will be going into (Simple List found HERE)

The person that guesses BOTH correctly will be the WINNER (In the event of more than one correct guess, we will go to the tiebreaker)

If no one guesses the first two correctly the most correct guesses out of all three!! (....or we are gonna have her draw a name!!)

EDITED to add: You MAY EDIT your post - HINT... she will be training at Two DIFFERENT Forts! image

HINT on 2nd Page

Congrats Raquel. Glad to here everyone is over the flu and many condolences to you on the deaths in your family. I have no clue as to the places where your daughter will be trained. I was never in the service and my parents were both Marines at Camp LeJjuene(sp?) Best of luck to her. My daughter enlisted in the army and was stationed in NC. Didn't make it though because of a back injury. Good luck on your giveaway. Hope you were able to use some of the coins you received from the last giveaway. Olmanjon

As retired Army sergeant (MI Branch), thank your daughter for her selfless service to our most awesome country. As for training, I will guess:

Basic at Ft. Jackson SC (where I went and totally brutal in the summer)
AIT at Ft Huachuca AZ (military Intel - might as well go with what I know...)

Not in to win, but I will take a shot:

    Basic: Ft. Benning, GA
AIT: 98 Something at Ft. Huachuca, AZ

I was going to go with Basic at Ft. Jackson, SC (were I went also) and some sort of INSCOM training since that what I did, but none of the posts that I went to are in business anymoreimage

You left out "Misery" .... took my basic training there back in 1963.... wood barracks, coal burning stoves to heat the barracks & cook on in the kitchen..... It was not unusual for the water in the bud cans to be frozen when you got up in the mornings ... What a dump, but everlasting memories. ( Ft. Lost in the Woods, Misery)

I know you're proud of her and so is her country.

Fort Jackson can be an inferno in August so if that's where she'll do her basic she won't need her mukaluks image

My Air Force basic was at Lackland AFB, San Antonio in July-September 1950 (we did 16 weeks then) but at least it
    was cool at night.

As further proof that I got it assbackwards, I ended up in Weather school at Chanute AFB near Chicago through February.

Anyway God bless her and good luck to her and to you and your family...
No,no- the kids and the cat are all right honey.
It's just that I got my PCGS grades.

Good for your daughter! I won't make any guesses as I am not entering imageimageimage. Any chance she will end up in Japan (Camp Zama won't be too far from where I am relatively speaking).

Looks like we have a few MI types image

Perry took my guess, so I'll change it a bit and say basic at Ft Jackson and AIT at Goodfellow AFB upon completion of DLI with an MOS of 35P.

BTW, most of the 98-series realigned to 35's not too long ago, to match the warrants. CI is now 35L, from 97B - interrogators, er, Human Intelligence Collectors are now 35M, from 97E, etc.

Whatever she pursues, best of luck to her!
(and make sure she starts prepping before it comes time to hop on the bus. Too many hit the schoolhouse blind. She can find all the relevant FMs/etc online and there are plenty of forums where she can find mentors, plus her recruiter should have already signed her up for AKO. A little study can give a big leg up on things, which can really help her career path. And just as importantly, start exercising before hitting boot camp!)

Both Thezookrew & Spoon guessed the correct Basic Training location (along with Canadacolornut).... but nobody got the correct Fort for AIT training or job MOS.

However - Spoon DID guess a Fort in VA... which was closer than anyone else!! Congrats Spoon - you are the winner... please PM me ~

Nicole will be doing basic (in Aug.... argh) @ Fort Jackson, SC
AIT training for her MOS @ Ft. Belvoir, VA (looks beautiful)
And has chosen (2nd choice because Helicopter Mechanic wasn't currently available) 21Y - Geospatial Engineering
(Army Corp of Engineers) where she will be doing mapping/surveying & other "Top Secret Clearance" stuff....

Please, everyone, pray that she passes Basic Training!!!!!! image
