GOETZ: Gigantic 1913 Cast Silver piece

K-24 Munich German Museum, 10th Anniversary Commemorative, 1913, Cast Silver, 74.8mm, Wt.119.5g, Edge punch, “KGoeTz” at 6:00 and “SILBER” at 12:00. UNC, RRR.
Obverse: Bavarian Prince Regent Ludwig, bust left., as Protector of the museum. Inscription, “ Ludwig, Prince Ruler of Bavaria. The German Museum’s noble protector.”
Reverse: Worker and owl in huge gear. Inscription, “ 1903 Munich 1913.”
This is a little known early piece of Goetz’s. It is scarce in Bronze and, to date, unrecorded in Silver. Kienast makes no mention of a cast silver piece in either volume.

Ludwig looks scholarly, with his glasses.

Similar, but not the same. Most other examples are when he was younger or when Goetz idealized him as younger. You may also be thinking of medals that have his fathers, Luitpold's, image on them. Look at the gallery between K-13 and K-27 and you'll see both of them. Also, Pattern Marks had a similar bust as to K-26.
I'll be beefing up the "gallery" to an actual webpage over the next five weeks. There will be text that will help alleviate any confusion.

Scott, do you know if Goetz has had a preference for owls, because this is not hte only piece with an owl on it?
It's one thing to own a coin with only a few known, but something else to own one previously unknown.
