60's so I don't really understand this thinking. Do they actually think that I will "wait" to place an order?
Do the kids now days mind this waiting crap?
Are you all in the waiting room to get screwed by Health Care dot gov?
Wake up and don't do business with folks like this. If you put up with it, it will only support these kind
of ideas and ways of thinking. If the website is broken or cannot handle the business, hire an expert
to fix the problem. Put it out to bid and quit paying your pals to only enforce your stupid thinking.
Rant over. Go away US Mint.

<< <i>edgar, you tossed some bananas into the chimps' cage ... now just watch the poo fly >>
I wonder whether the Mint was able to develop the waiting room function for less than $600M from a Canadian Company on a no-bid contract.

(As long as it's a Silver Eagle that we approve of, of course.)
Will there be a place in the waiting room where I can apply for subsidies to buy my coins once I'm allowed into the shop?
Basically, everyone will try to log in exactly at 11:45...
He who knows he has enough is rich.
Considering my recent errors, I'll wait to see what it is.
I am hopeful that those in the room will have something more happen than the above. Perhaps some pre-checkout auto-add-to-cart feature and you can't check out until noon.
We will see.
I like it. Great concept.

<< <i>They should have a chat function so that you can talk online to others in line.
That would actually be a great idea. Everyone would be pissed off and in no time the waiting
room would be empty! No good would come out of talking about a failed system or the long
waits.

Instead of getting kicked off the site or blown off on the phone, you can rest comfortably in a well-appointed "waiting room". Make sure you bring your nitroglycerin tablets in the event that you start having chest pain while you wait to order your SAE special, limited edition one-year-only set du jour.

<< <i>This smacks of a trial ballon for healthcare.gov 2.0. With a waiting room, instead of blaming the gov for the website being nonfunctional, we can blame the customer for being impatient.
