A New PR66BN Matte Proof Lincoln was "made" today (Some Stellar Photos too)

This was in an OGH for over 10 years, then was recently put into a regular PCGS slab both at the PR65BN grade. I bought it from Eagle Eye Rare Coins in the regular PCGS slab. I thought I would give it one last shot for an upgrade and submitted it for a Secure Plus re-grade. It just came back PR66BN today!! So it's 1 of only 12 PR66BN 1911 Matte Proof Lincolns, none graded higher in the BN color class.

I just had some fantastic TrueView photos made of the obverse of this coin, nicely showing the glossy brown surface slowly popping blue/violet color as you change the lighting angles. This is just stellar photographic work by the PCGS TrueView photography department!

daOnlyBG, amen to that! Rick of Eagle Eye Rare Coins actually PM'd me here on CU that he had this coin ... In other words, I got lucky. Thank you Rick!
So my MPL collection is pretty much done. The VDB and the 1916 are too darned expensive, so I am going to stop with these 7.
Although if I could find a lower grade BN 1916 that looked nice with a bit of color, I would probably spring.

It is worth mentioning that one of his 1911's in 66BN was bought by him in 2008 or so for $17500, which at the time was a record price for a 1911 MPL in any color. For what it's worth, the coin is green and stunning and spot free.
His other coin is another stunner, heralded by Brian Wagner as an MPL masterpiece. I gave up hounding him for this coin a few years ago, but it remains high on my list to obtain "one day".

I think that Green Monster you posted is currently in Gobrecht's Monster-Toned Raisinet Collection.
This was the information that I gathered on that coin from Brian Wagner ...
Ex. Alan Epstein, Duane Blake. Green Monster from Gobrecht's Monster-Toned Raisinet Collection on the PCGS Registry. A Brian Wagner Hall of Fame coin. Kryptonite from the green glow of Krypton! This coin has an even blue-green patina, is spot free, and nearly flawless. The "Green Monster" name, attributed to this coin by Duane Blake, was inspired by the left field (green) wall of Fenway Park of Boston Red Sox fame." - Brian Wagner's Hall of Fame
That coin has always been my personal favorite of the 1911 date. Wow, I didn't realize that popped for $17,500, but then again there was a feeding frenzy back in those days.
I guess my coin which I bought for $2,250 was a bargain by comparison!
And I also like these two PR66BN's listed in CoinFacts. The top coin is in The Withers Collection and the bottom coin is owned by Robec.
It would be cool to see images of all 12 (or 13) PR66BN's but I don't think they are all imaged.
This is the remaining PR66BN 1911 listed in CoinFacts, but it shows little unusual (off-beat) color.
So I guess we have accounted for 6 of the 12 (or 13?) of the known PR66BN 1911's!
