How about a forum member meeting at FUN..

What does everyone think about a meeting at the FUN show of all forum members in attendance. We could meet at the food place at a certain time on a certain day.

We could print our "forum name" on our tags and see who we all are.

What say ye??

No way I can travel 3000 miles across the USA from Oregon to attend FUN, too old for that long of a trip. Last time I attended FUN, which was many years ago, it took me THREE very uncomfortable days to finally get back to my home in Portland. Weather this time of year can devastate the airline traffic. I think a CU member meeting at FUN should be an every year event, one which is expected to happen each FUN show, not one which only happens when this group of forum members manages to arrange it. This meeting of CU aficionados should be an annual event automatically. I would hope for a day early in the show, preferably the second day of the show. I suggest the second day because the first day of the show many collectors are overwhelmed with the floor show.

I ask that PCGS organize this annual event for their CU members that are ever so loyal to PCGS.

Is Don Willis listening?

I believe PCGS has been doing exactly what you are asking for every year for at least 10 years. I attend the luncheons whenever possible.

The PCGS luncheon for set registry collectors on Friday.

PCGS even pays for the lunch too.

Can't get much better than that.

If you are a registry set collector then you should have already gotten your invitation by email.

The last few times we tried to get together prior to FUN
it was decided ( or just happened to be this way ) that
Thursday morning at 8:00 A.M. at Denny's restaurant
accross the street from the convention center was the
most convenient place to meet.

There is plenty of parking for anyone who needs it,
It's never that crowded that early - and it is usually
well attended.

I'm game - and I'll be there with Ponyexpress8 as well.

The Thur breakfast is a good idea, though traditionally I get there late

Otherwise Fri afternoon or evening would be better for me, as I usually have a lot of ground to cover on Thur.

late to the previous breakfasts even before last years ! LOL ) - I plan on being there.
I'll get to the back part of the restaurant as in the picture.

I'm good for whatever! Friday may be a better day to meet at Denny's to avoid the 1st Day of the Show mayhem on Thursday!

I'm also stuck with Dimeman on Thursday morning since he's picking me up from the airport

Friday at Denny's may help me avoid my typical tardiness, as I have an offer to share a condo with some dealer friends in the
area Thur night.....at least I won't have the excuse of having a long drive in

I'll be at FUN, but working. For all that do attend, stop on by the Public Registration booth and say "HI". One thing - parking fee is $9.00, but you must state that you are going to the FUN show to get that rate. If they charge you more, please see me (BJ Neff) at the Public Registration booth.

Another idea in addition to the breakfast is for everyone to meet at the PCGS grading tables about a half hour before the Friday luncheon. I assume that is around 11:15am?

This way, it is on the floor, minimal taken away from bourse activities and a way for all of us to meet even if you cannot make the luncheon.

PCGS, can you confirm if my time is correct?

Best we meet about 11:00 - I hope I can break away
from our table. I also want to go to the BCCS meeting
at 3:00.

The usual Friday morning Denny's breakfast maybe a "problem" for me. Thursday, Jan 10, is my birthday and I plan to celebrate just a little. Let me know if you all do decide a meeting someplace.

For those who can't make Friday ( Happy Birthday, Cliff ) and can
Only go on Thursday, I'll be there - @ 8:00 - but have to leave by
9 to finish what I didn't get to do on Wednesday... There are always
last minute things to take care of ...

So - both days - Thursday and Friday - @ Denny's across from the
Convention Center - both days @ 8:00 AM.

When you arrive walk straight back to the large dining space. I'll try and
let the wait-staff that there will be approximately 10-12 people each day.
