Things you really never or rarely see in Numismatics, without a good reason why.

What are the unusual things you never seem to see in coins? For example, I've never seen a war cent in a PCGS rattler slab.
Why?

What are yours?

You rarely ever see an IKE in a Doily slab.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Oops...I didn't notice this part of your thread title "without a good reason why".

There's a good reason why I have never seen any colonial coin graded MS70 - they are all over 200 years old! Even with significant conservation (doctoring), I don't think one could get a 70.

I've never seen a *circulated* 1960 (Philly) small date cent for sale, slabbed or otherwise. All 2 million or so must have been captured upon release.

On the other hand, circulated 1960-D small date cents are readily available by the roll.

I've never seen a rattler slab with a presidential dollar.

I've never seen a clipped 1933-D cent. Every major collection that I know if is missing it. I've never heard of one being offered, even in old auctions or issues of ECTM. I have seen many 1933 Philly cent clips, and clips from the Denver Mint for the surrounding dates (though they are quite scarce), but never a 1933-D.

I have never seen a colonial in a MS69 holder for the same reasons listed above!

Almost every year from 1958 to 1984 has a nickel struck on a cent planchet (especially so for 1983) but none in 1965. Don't know why and can't come up with a good reason.

I have never seen anyone reach into his or her pocket, pull out a fist full of worn change, and exclaim "Look at the history. Imagine all the people who have held this, and where these coins have been."

Seems more romantic with a worn $5 gold piece.
