25th Anniversary Set - UPDATE

IMPORTANT UPDATE: November 10, 2011. We have received the first submissions of the 25th Anniversary Coins. The mint sealed packaging includes a Certificate of Authenticity. That certificate lists all 5 coins. In that list the bullion coin with no mint mark is reported to be minted in either San Francisco or West Point. This information conflicts with earlier reports so PCGS contacted the mint directly. We were told by a mint official that while most of the no mint coins were minted in San Francisco there is no guarantee that all of the no mint coins were minted there. Consequently PCGS cannot label the no mint coins as (S) as originally planned. Those coins are still eligible for 25th Anniversary Labels and for First Strike according to the already published guidelines. We apologize for all the confusion.

He said it won't have the S mint mark. Looks like there will be two identical coins with different coin numbers.
Don is talking about the standard bullion coin.

Seems to me, graded (s) or (w,) or both (s) & (w,) doesn't change anything.
May be the only "I don't know where it came from" coin. 1st ever (S/W.)

Anyone else try using the online submission form and try the submission IDs for the 1st Strike? Not in the system when I try it....
The non 1st strike are fine and do show up (and, I am looking them up from the posts that Don has made as well as the online submission lookup...where it will find them, but clicking on them makes that line go red and say it isn't a valid US coin number.
Trying to get 25 coins on 1 list is not easy....sigh.....and I don't feel like putting 5xcoinID, 5 different times. I would like to see if a set could end up sequential and all 70
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

No. They don't need those. They have the sealed box and the coin are (hopefully) in the mint's capsules.

Would it be possible to updates up on how the un-boxing condition the sets are coming to you in, how many have coins out of the capsules and loose capsules ? if it's common or not ? major or minor damage.

No. They don't need those. They have the sealed box and the coin are (hopefully) in the mint's capsules. >>

"You do not need to send any flips with your order. Just make sure you send us the package sealed from the mint and we will work with it the way they have enclosed the coins."

Does it really matter? I mean, it is what it is and the product is sold out so returning them won't get you new ones and by the time PCGS opens them, the 7 day return period is way over.
Some will be out of the capsules and some won't. Some will have light damage and some won't. Some will get 70's and some won't.
SAE's have always suffered form this capsule thing which is probably something the US Mint could address. But, I certainly hope not since the alternative is to literally seal the capsule. I remember the days when they sealed the capsule and in the hands of a newbie, a sealed capsule will cause just as much if not more damage than a silver Eagle floating around in the shipping container.

The arrival of the highly anticipated, limited edition 25th Anniversary Silver Eagle 5 Piece Set from the United States Mint is right around the corner. What a better way to commemorate such a stunning addition to your coin collection than to have them graded and encapsulated in a PCGS holder! We have two options for you when it comes to getting your coins into a holder.
The first option is the “Ultimate Bulk Package.” For a minimum of five (5) sets: you can receive each of your coins numerically graded by PCGS. The insert is specially designed to showcase an autograph by the 12th Chief Engraver of the US Mint and designer of the reverse of the Silver Eagle, John M. Mercanti. An autographed letter from Mr. Mercanti congratulating you on your historic set, will also be included. Each coin will also be eligible to receive First Strike® designation. The second option is a new insert specifically developed for the 25th Anniversary of the Silver Eagle.

Simply send in your US Mint sealed boxes to receive either of these special offers on your PCGS Submission Form, request which insert you would prefer and all coins will be placed into a tamper-evident holder. The coins must come sealed in order to receive both the “First Strike” and the “25th Anniversary Set” designation.
