<< <i>who are the forum moderators? >>
I'm only repeating what I've heard... I can neither confirm nor deny who the moderators are, but here's what I've been told:
homerunhall - President, CU
DonWillis - President, PCGS
carolj - Collectors Club Manager
SportsModerator1 - (not sure of title/position)
RWB, really?

<< <i>I'm guessing RWB got bit because he criticized coin grading. >>
It wasn't grading but rather slabs and looking at coins and medals through plastic that he didn't like.

Just for the record:
I love and support coin and currency and medal grading. Especially PCGS.
I love and support stamp grading. Especially PSE.
I love and support sports-card grading. Especially PSA.
I am a CU kind of guy, through and through.

Your BST transactions look like a who's who of bammed members!

Bammings are not always a matter of respect/disrespect. From the viewpoint of an observer who was watching the thread "LIVE" the day bushmaster8 and feldini were bammed, I can say that there was no disrespect whatsoever (unless, that is, there were some nasty PM's?)
Bushmaster8 refused to shut up because he claimed he was speaking the truth. HRH called him a liar. BM replied that he was not lying and that he had documentation that could back up what he was saying. It read like it was a case of censorship of a story of a Presidential Review gone bad.
Coinguy1 was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I think HRH was so incensed by BM's revelations that he would have bammed his mother that day.
No question that most bammees were assets to the community. But you have to play by the rules.

No, actually, it was more likely because he posted a PM from Don Willis on the forum. I like and respect RWB, but I thought it was in very poor taste that he did so. It looked to me like he was trying to get evicted.
It would be much easier for us if PCGS had a zero tolerance policy towards behavior on these boards. Break one of the rules and you're banned with no chance of coming back.
That's a little too unforgiving so we try to warn posters who transgress and end up sending PMs, deleting a lot of messages and/or threads, etc. We occasionally let someone back on after they have been banned, although their track record for repeat bannings is pretty bad. I call that babysitting.
No one was banned this past weekend that hadn't been given multiple warnings or some kind of a reprieve in the past. All this is done in private. None of you see the messages that go back and forth.
On the other hand, I constantly receive messages from board members who are upset with the language being used, or the innuendos, or generally the 8th grade humor that often pops up. Many potential contributors and interested parties leave here because of this. It is especially frustrating when YNs are involved and their parents are pulling them off the boards because a few posters act like idiots. I don't care how good a guy someone is - I have banned posters who I have been friendly with for years - you can't just say anything you want on the boards and not think of who might be reading it.
Every time we go through this we inch closer to a zero tolerance policy.
Ya know, posting to a message board is like driving.
For some reason we are willing to do things that we would never do in a face-face situation.
I will still miss RWB, but I can't hold it against our hosts.
you can not go into some one's home and insult or embarrass them , at least not without the understanding that doing so may lead to a quick boot out the door .

<< <i>Rules is rules, as much as I will miss a couple of the posters I prefer it this way. No favorites, everyone gets treated the same. >>
With respect , do they ? The other day , the same day actually , another member ran rampant through the US coin forum slating it along with many snide comments in the PM forum mostly directed at myself for pointing out what others have told him in the past. More than once he posted addressing the entire forum informing them i was somebodies Alt and he was having me investigated as such.It was a series of direct attacks that went on for some time without any apparant repurcussion.I do not wish to see anyone banned , but i would say if anyone deserved it that day it wasnt who got it.
