I'm sick of seeing the same whiners on the UHR thread whine over 25 times a day about the same thing. That thread can die anytime and 95%+ of the Board members could care less!!!

I would like to file a complaint . My gold $2.50 was slabbed a while back as a 62 and i feel it should have been a 63. Ive debated regrading but not sure right now i want to wait the time. but my heart says its a 63.

Complaint # 2 I think some one of my friends walked off with my $1 2001series F 0000 0034 C note and im displeased about it.

My wife is still at the auto repair place but it doesn't sound good. I was taken from the accident in an ambulance with a concussion, strained neck and re-injured my previous back injury.

we were in a 2003 Ford Explorer, she was driving a 1989 Suburban and there was a newer Chevy Cobalt that had stopped in front of us. We stopped and my wife yelled, I turned my head to look at her when we were hit at about 35 mph, my head hit the roof and the rest of my body went forward. The impact drove our truck forward and impacted the chevy that was stopped in front of us.

had a ct scan and thankfully nothing fractured or broken but will be bedridden for approx 3wks.

front end of the suburban was totalled and will find out about our truck today. But seeing as the rear doors don't close properly...doesn't look promising.

  • Since many of you have probably stopped reading the UHR thread, understandably so, and since this thread is a great opportunity to let more peole know what I found out earlier today, I present to you my Whine, no cheese, just Whine:

    THIS IS AMAZING!

Based on my understanding of a conversation I had with an employee at the Mint in D.C., whose name I will not reveal to prevent any retaliation against her, I was provided the following information.

ALLEGEDLY, the Mint has known all this time which orders were going to be shipped and which orders were NOT going to be shipped for at least the last two weeks.

ALLEGEDLY, more than two weeks ago, the Mint had finished preparing certain orders for shipping. These prepared orders are the orders that the Mint has been shipping over the past two weeks. The Mint knew that only these prepared orders would be shipped through today.

So, ALLEGEDLY, if you have called the Mint over the past two weeks to check the status of your order, the Mint knew at that time whether or not your order was going to ship and DID NOT tell you.

ALLEGEDLY, the Mint has NOT prepared ANY additional orders for shipping other than those prepared orders mentioned above.

ALLEGEDLY, the Mint actually stopped shipping ANY additional orders.

ALLEGEDLY, the Mint will resume shipping additional orders this Friday, March 13, 2009.

ALLEGEDLY, the Mint knew that their FIFO shipping policy that their customers relied on had been completely disregarded and is sufficiently ready and willing to blame PBGS for this critical error.

If the abovementioned information is true, and I have no reason to believe it is not since it was told to me so 'matter of fact', then the Mint has lost the trust and respect of an entire generation of numismatists, if not more. The actions and the behavior by the Mint is deplorable, profoundly disturbing, and inexcusable. Even a public apology seems inadequate at best. Nevertheless, numismatists and citizens should know the truth. This is your government; these are your tax dollars. These people are supposedly required to report to you, the people. Demand the truth. Demand a remedy.

So...I got a free kitchen Island when they accidentially delivered 2 at my sisters house, we told the delivery guy and he said "Well it's too heavy to load it back on the truck you weren't charged for it, So you keep it"...So I then gotta haul this FREE Island over to my place and "All" it needed was a top! I then got a deal on a slab of granite, except they cut it wrong, they forgot the rounded part for the bar stools...They then offered to throw that slab in for free, if I redid the rest of the kitchen counter tops...All free stuff...Cost me $6,000 for the rest of the granite, then of course the backsplash needed to be tiled + $1,500 for that mess, and of course we couldn't keep the old sink case it'd look funny, so my wife buys a 400lb cast iron double deep sink on sale for $399.00, plus installation was gonna be FREE cause I can Plumb, Had to reframe the cabinet cause it was so heavy, reconfigure the drain and venting + new garbage disposer, and some kind of Platinum Fancy man faucet sprayer thing +$575.00, but everyone keeps telling me ya but the Island was free.............image

Funny thing is my wife still thinks I can do plumbing even after I blew up the bathroom a few years back, I was in the basement and she was walking with our baby girl right near the first floor bathroom when I blew it up, literally. The company edited my story to make it more appealing for the readers took out the cuss words, but I did receive a $500 check for the grand prize in the contest...here's how not to unplug a drain...Link

Lightning struck my house last fall during a thunderstorm, which caused about $10,000 in damage. The lightning struck the top of the chimney, blew out bricks, melted flashing, fried wiring in that part of the house, and finally grounded through a copper water pipe causing a water leak in the foundation. This happened a mere 12 months after we bought the house.

My gripe is that as a result, my mortgage just went up a hundered bucks a month due to a insurance premium increase (and increased taxes too). I think that BS!

Ok, I feel much better now... NOT image

My rant is how the mint does not take care of the coins they hold in their valuts for decades and longer.

The GSA sales were wonderful and there were some lovely, high grades that came out of the sale but
most were just bag marked yukkies! Why did they not take care of them??

This is akin to a car dealer who's lot got hit by a hail storm and then selling the cars as mint condition.
Heck the mint made a bundle on those dollars that were sold way above face value.

My latest coin in a GSA, I posted here last week, is covered with verdigris. Improper storage. Nevermind
the bagmarks and rough handling but stored in a damp or wet environment for years! Ugggggggh

    thanks,
    bob
