Was it not labeled First Strike? If not, the person who sent it in will probably get considerably less when he goes to sell.

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

I guess you assume everyone shares if they received a coin, then make their submission status public.

How did they submit it to PCGS when I haven't even received mine from the mint? Who do you have to know?

Nah, it was the NGC coin that got a MS69 that was sent to PCGS for an upgrade.

There's an option to make it private. So if they don't use that option then yes, it is assumed that they wanted it public.

What are the current pop reports on this coin?

Naw ... that one sold on eBay for $1800 .... image

  • Mine. Saw the share was private. Changed that. That's why it poped up.

    Submission # 9101939 (yesterday) and # 9101942 (18th) both went
    70. Both FS. I regret I was not thinking about TrueView and did not get
it. The good folks at the post office will be delivering mine back registered
mail within the next 2 days.

At present there is 2 posted grades at NGC. I have 2 graded with PCGS
(1 posted to the pop). 1 member had the UHR shipped and delivered on
the 6th? I think maybe some members may have taken the low profile on
this. Certainly more than a handful of the UHR escaped the mint. Were they
all sold on pre-flip? I was not the first to get a UHR. Was the first to get to
    PCGS.

The CC getting credit blacked seems like the only valid predictor. My card got
hit 4 days prior to ship. This week should see shipping in higher numbers.

The PCGS FS close is 03/11 (?). NGC is 03/09 (the last I saw). That is still alot
    of time.

    Charlie.

I wouldn't be in a hurry to sell that coin in case March 11 is not enough time.

Wait Charlie you have two Graded yourself at PCGS first Strike? MAN MAN

  • No hurry at all. I think it's a stretch that no more UHR will be
shipped by the FS window close. That would be the current mint
issues continue with no change. Many members cite the CC
    getting hit.

Doesn't the mint have a statement policy to release on the no
signature drop and run on the 26th (?). Would not be surprised if
    no shipping occured until then.

  • I have 2 graded with PCGS

CharlieC has two graded with PCGS? That raises other questions in my mind? I understand from these posts that CharlieC wasn't the first one to get an order in, is that correct? If so, CharlieC got through that insanity twice to get two orders in then through pure dumb luck got two orders sent to him out of FIFO sequence. That is interesting.

  • Was not the first to get a UHR order. Was the first to PCGS.
  • So Charlie did you receive two UHR's so far?

  • One recieved directly. One recieved thru someone else placing the order.
  • way to go charlie! the mint loves you and your people. :-)
  • I did not buy one of these, but I would be pissed if I did and it didn`t grade MS 70...I dont care one way or the other about a first strike....no big deal to me...I still think it is a cool looking coin though...
  • What does the slab look like? I'm assuming it has to be thicker.

  • Hope to be able to see mine by tomorrow.
    Will post.

I agree ... all PM products issued past or present from the Mint, just like your Registry Set, should be graded as bullion...image

Have to ask, why didn't you give us the gouge when you got yours shipped by canceling the book?

  • A fair question.....

Answer: Not sure how it would be recieved and whether or not any issues
would come out of it with the mint.

When the mint had the same question and they were ok after the answer I
started mentioning it. Nothing was done wrong but sometimes that has little
to do with what happens afterward. That was the concern.

There is a link to where this is discussed in detail by the person that got his
on the 6th. He also canceled the book. This is mentioned first there.

Where are the other 299,998 ?

    When it rains, it pours.

  • Both of the orders could have been canceled as well. Kinda hard to recommend something you
can not say for sure will work. I went with caution.

Could be a burn, I don't understand it though. Do you mean me personally? Because I do not have any registry sets with bullion items in them. All my sets contain coins that were destined and used for circulation.

You did it the right way. Given most of the folks here, if you had said anything, you have had people calling you a liar, or doubting you, or attacking you, etc.
I ordered one too, and would like to receive it soon, but I still believe you did things the right way.

Those that are questioning why you didn't tell people are largely the flippers who want mo' money on their flip (nothing wrong with it but all they do is flip and that just gets old after awhile)

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • I canceled the book by accident. After several lock ups and a you haven't been active for 30 minutes re log in; I finally got my order through. When I went to check status I saw 2 lines saying UHR (I missed the little word "book" at the bottom) and thought that the mint might think I tried to order 2 and cancel my order. So I canceled the bottom line. Later that night I noticed my screw up and called the mint to correct it. They told me they couldn't add it back in but don't worry the book will ship anyway.

I sent you a message Charlie
  • CharlieC looks like you will have the only first strikes around, nice job.

if people give you crap about it who cares, they are just wishing they were in your shoes.

    good for you....

Does anybody think PCGS won't extend the FS deadline if they get too few submissions? FS costs extra, right?

  • CasmanCasman Posts: 3,935 ✭✭
Why extend it, so that they lose all credibility like the mint?
