I posted this one earlier but after looking at the huge image
it appears to have teeth? Rather a die clash similar to the Bugs Bunny variety.
I thought that those varieties were on the Philly mints.
Is that a clash in the mouth ?

You betcha'! Now if only there was red toning around the mouth...
U.S. Type Set
I'll try to do an overly and see if it is a clash or not. Might take a few minutes.

Sorry about the rotation vs. The flip.
Fixed now.

I don't know. In the date the last 1 looks thicker as well, but I think its just strike doubling.

That's amazing how you do that.
Thanks. But I still have no idea. Are there any documented ones?

No clue, we need Lucy.
BECOKA has the answer in his overlay. It is a clash from the L of DOLLAR. That little section matches exactly.
Isn't the eagle supposed to be in his mouth when the coin is check for clashing?

It looks like the overlay was only rotated. You need to mirror the image then rotate.

I now there are other Bugs Bunny varieties... I believe there is a 1952 as well...
nice find and I agree that this will have a premium... just not sure how much

I once had an ex girlfriend tell me to honestly tell her how her butt looked in a new pair of jeans. I know all about the "clash in the mouth".
cool pickup regardless.
Yes, on the overlay, the Eagle's wing is supposed to be in the mouth. Feather's may result in fang-like projections.
.........just to overstate the obvious of course.

My images are fixed, links to the old ones probably won't show up any more.

<< <i>Nice pickup. I have a 1951-P and also a 1954-P. Both in ANACS plastic. I've never seen on from Denver mint. >>
Do you think ANACS will indicate it on the slab?

ANACS indicated that both were the Bugs Bunny variety.
This clash is essentially the same, but the orientation of the die(s) is a wee bit different.
So there is definitely a dental problem going on there, but not the "pointy-fang" stylee that characterizes the BB.
This 51-S is a result of the same phenomenon, but obviously is not technically a BB IMHO.
Nice coin with originality.
