Hey Lee, you absolutely amaze me more and more with each of your Classics threads. The time you spend putting these together is very much appreciated. Outstanding!
here are a few examples of this Commemorative that aren't often seen. to add to what Lee has posted, the area was more correctly referred to as the Connecticut Firelands of the Western Reserve and many entities have adopted the use of both "Firelands" and "Western Reserve" into their names. another interesting point is that the roads the surveyors initially built resembled corduroy----->>>>>>>>>>>>-----in their construction appearance, logs laid in that fashion, and again there is at least one "Corduroy Road" in the area named for that fact. the whole region teems with post-Revolutionary history for someone who looks around a bit.
I might as well make my contribution to this thead, here is a medal from the 1936 Cleveland Great Lakes Expo. BTW, Keets saw it at Dearborn, I had to beat him with a rubber chicken to get him to give it back to me!!!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

This coin celebrated something more worthy than many of the others issued around that time (like the Cincinatti commem).
These are cool -- I have a mini-hoard of 5 of these.
