It's going to be "small dollars" - any washie, adams, sackie or sba (april fools)

My guess is that it will be "any coin featuring George Waghington," which would make it valid for a new dollar, a modern quarter, or a Sesquicentennial half (I'm sure I've forgotten one or two others).

Incomplete planchets wanted, especially Lincoln Cents & type coins.

  • This should be on the site today but here it is. And yes, it is only for the coins listed.

    *******************************************************************

This quarter began on April 1, but we're not going to fool around with this Quarterly Special. For the next three months, we'll accept the following firsts from the 20th century:

    1909 Lincoln Head Cents (1909, 1909-VDB, 1909-S, 1909-S VDB)
    1913 Buffalo Nickels (1913 Type 1 and 1913 Type 2)
    1916 Mercury Head Dimes (1916, 1916-D, 1916-S)
    1916 Standing Liberty Quarter
    1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollars (1916, 1916-D, 1916-S)
    1921 Peace Dollar

Hey, this is a great special IMHO, for often faked coins, such as the 09-SVDB and 16-D dime, to get your PO-1 1921 Peace dollar graded.

A bunch of difficult First Year issues!

Why no 1932 Washington Quarters? imageimage
  • claychaserclaychaser Posts: 4,406 ✭✭✭✭
In response to Boom's lament about no 32-D or S quarters, it looks like it's the first major design change of the 20th century by demonination. So, the 1916 SLQ beat the washies.

Better go feed the washies to your pet gators!

Hey wait a minute. How about some firsts for the Modern Crap crowd??

    Like 1938 Jefferson Nickel
    1946 Roosevelt Dimeola
    1932 Washington Quarter
    1948 Franklin Half
    1964 Kennedy Half
    1971 Eisenhower Buck
    1979 SBA

If not then what significance do the selected coins have other than "first of a series"?
