Over the last months I have been aquiring some half eagles.
When others post, some bare every bit of information they have including price/grade/etc...
I really apprecaite that openess so I will try to repay the favor.

All the coins are in PCGS holders. Some OGH and others pretty darn new.
Here they are by date. The pictures are large so please excuse my first attempt at presentation.
Pops include NGC, and boy does that make them grow. Price includes shipping/insurance that i paid!
edited: to add that bit there. i am not selling. geez no.

Can't believe they gave that '92-S an XF45. It must've been weakly struck or something. That being said, I like it. Looks like a repunched mintmark?

I like the pinkish tones on that '02-S.

A stunning set. It's hard not to be impressed by that much gold.

PS-Looking over your pretty coins, I couldn't help but think on how it would be fun to collect a mintmark set of these. Seven coins: P, C, D, O, S, CC, D.

Nice set of Lib $5's. The 1892-S looks like it has a double punched mint mark. Also, the 1903-S is a very attractive coin for a MS-60. Do you know why they graded it only a 60? Are there hairlines that are not showing up in your pics?

it is pretty close in hand. one has to understand it has very little luster left. It does not deserve AU.
not a coin you will see for sale on ebay that often. i like it though.

PS-Looking over your pretty coins, I couldn't help but think on how it would be fun to collect a mintmark set of these. Seven coins: P, C, D, O, S, CC, D.

I think about that also. But i have chosen a different short term goal. I want a coin from each decade. I will
top it all off by getting a 1839P in AU. I still need a 1860s. More than likely it will be an 1861P.
After that is complete i will seek an O and CC. Once i have all that under my belt I will seek out a D or C.

I like the 1892-S with the RPM

i will be the first to admit i knew something was going on with that mintmark but i was
not daring enough to claim it. Now i know for sure. I did not think twice about the grade it has.
    I like it.

Really nice. I like them. Some look like they should be higher grades.

Over the internet it is really a crap shoot. Some coins are over graded a bit
others are right on. A few though, more than likely in the older holders, are possibly
upgrade candidates. I will not bother though.

Also, the 1903-S is a very attractive coin for a MS-60

Older green label holder. Graded quite accurate in my mind. Imagine i think
a MS64 half eagle needs to be stunning. Grades higher truly rare in my fantasy world
    of old fashioned gradnig standards.

I wish I had a coin budget like that!

cancel your cable TV. do not let yourself get into debt or borrow money. buy used cars.
live cheaply but not to cheap. eat well for example. you will then have money to buy gold.

I wanted to post something interesting. I must admit seeing my coins in this forum
gives me a different view of them.

I hope to be able to share some better dates soon.

Great pics! You are a quick study on digital photography.

Awesome gold pieces - someday I'll be adding a few more pieces to the Indians I have set aside.

I look forward to seeing more....

i am also wondering why gold does not seem to have die breaks that often.
    at least on my coins.
