This is the submission that contains the five coins used in my contest/giveaway that I posted back when I was at about 17,500.

My grades are noted in bold parentheses next to the PCGS grade.

Here are the contest coins:

Line #1:
image

Most everyone did pretty well with this one, either nailing it right on or coming within a point. image

Line #2:
image

Many graded this one AU58, which was pretty costly because that's a six point deduction.

Line #3:
image

The majority went with bodybag on this one, and PCGS agreed. Maybe I'll send it off to NGC. image

Line #6:
image

Pretty much everybody blew this one - badly. That makes sense, since it was the "setup" coin I mentioned in the contest thread. image It was shot in such a way that it's difficult to see the "wishbone" so most missed the variety. Remember, that's not the only diagnostic. It is also hairlined which, of course, doesn't show up in images. image

Line #12:
image

Most of you had this one grading cameo. PCGS disagreed. That's okay. You were right, PCGS is wrong and they'll be seeing it again.

And, the contest winner is:

08HALA20 with a score of 93!

His grades were:

1. MS63
2. MS64
3. BB-AT
4. PR68CAM
5. PR68 AH

CONGRATULATIONS! Please PM me with your shipping address and I'll get your PCGS PR68 Accented Hair on the way! image

    LOL.....I knew you'd reach 20,000. image

BTW - the BB sucks. It blew me out of the water almost as bad as the hidden hairlines did. Congrats to HALA. Make sure to check the one he sends you. image

    Interesting thread, Russ.

To be able to see clear images of the coins, and then the actual results of the submission is good stuff.

It looks like your grading skills are right up their with your imaging these days.

And I will say, not a one of those coins is as ugly as Marty's new Frankies. That might well be impossible though.

Wow! great job of grading, Russ. If PCGS pays its graders anywhere near the rumored salary, maybe you should send them your resume. I would certainly recommend you.image
