I think I will *try* to sell enough of them off at $50-60 a piece to make my money back on the deal and keep the rest in my collection. Think they'll sell?
I think it's pretty pricey, especially considering the quantity you bought. They are all the same date, I assume. I don't think the Benson pedigree is that big of a deal.
Benson pedigree dimes and nickels are flooding into the coin market right now. Someone must have bought a bunch of rolls from the sale and slabbed them with the pedigree. The nickels are selling for $15 each in MS-65. You might make a few dollars on them but not much.
I'm a newbie at this game though. I will probably try to sell them out in my local newspaper..i figure people will pay more that way. but then again, i'm not too sure.

It's unlikely that a ton of people will know what they are that are reading the paper, IMO...

I don't know what the retail market is for these, but I've seen non-Benson's in PCGS or NGC got for anywhere from $25 to $35. It seems they are trending up. For a batch of 20 you should've done a little better, IMHO.
Why not take them down to your local elementary school and hand them out to the honor's students

I am looking for a 1945 nickel for my mom (birthyear) as well as quarter and half. Nothing too expensive, but would like to keep it MS65-66. I have her a lincoln cent and a merc dime. When you say they are flooding, is it a wide variety of coins/years or was there a special hording?
I know nothing about benson, but if it is a way to get the coins that are deluging the market and dropping the price, I am game
you got screwed. the coins are worth 5 bucks each, the plastic cost about 10, so you paid double for 'em. the "benson" is worth squat on coins like that.
